I'm really enjoying your life adventure. I was a circus performer in my young days - played a million fairs, many sold out arenas, dinky small towns, local tv shows in small Midwest towns, planes, buses, trains and motor homes, nice hotels, funky hotels all over the US, Canada and South America. Coming into a new town and checking out the venue never got old. Just something about the guys bustling around setting up in an echo y building. . There's always the excitement when the seats are filling up. There is definitely something all live performers have in common no matter what the skill.

That's a brilliant idea. It's challenging to record your band while on stage and trying to focus on the songs and keep an eye on your camera gear during a gig. Any recommendations the type of sunglasses camera setup?

You got the VIP treatment! lol. I was in a band that played downtown during CMA Fest in 2009 and 2010. We had multiple gigs so I remember having to find parking, 100 degrees and dragging equipment thru the crowds from place to place! Great time though. Thanks for taking us along.

A very unique aspect of Nashville and country type music is the access to the artists….that really doesn’t exist in other genres and it’s very cool (maybe not for the musicians, but for the fans).

I once played a festival, they told me they had a back line. I got there and it was a fifteen watt solid state Fender practice amp. Not even a direct out, it was mic’d. We were playing outdoors for about 7500 people! I feel the pain! Sometimes you just have to roll with it…. Bigger shows are fun, congrats!

Two questions:1) I'm guessing you didn't get a sound check before going on? You just went up there and hoped for the best? 2) Small point - I assume that you don't supply the guitar cord either? Sounds a little like some of the open mics I've done - no chance to make sure everything sounds right and works right before you start playing (although I realize this CMA gig is way more professional than my open mics). Thanks for bringing us along - most of us are seeing stuff we've never seen in person.
