What is pow-wow, the Pennsylvania Dutch spiritual healing practice? [video]

I have been studying Braucherei for fifty years. I am of German heritage through my grandmother whose father was a Powwow in Western North Carolina who worked with animals and was valued by his community for his skill. While in college, in the early 1970s, I discovered a powwow living in Lexington, S,C. in an area call the "Dutch Fork" that was settled by Germanic people in the 1700s who practiced these healing traditions. It was all kept very secret and it took me a while to be accepted and begin to learn the practice. I studied with him and it became a life long passion that continues to this day. This is a wonderful introduction and Patrick Donmoyer is probably the best scholar I have ever met on the subject. If you are interested in Powwow, do not miss his book on the subject.

I'm currently learning more about my pennsylvania roots, powwow is in the family history. I've always been sensitive to animals and people alike. So if anyone can point me in the direction of more info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ❤

My mother, born in 1942, was half German and half Irish. Her mother (German) took her to a pow wow before she would seek any medical attention. I’m so interested in learning about this heritage.

The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if you confess with your mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in your heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). He Himself is an Atoning Offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world (1 John 2:2).
