I do like Michael Reeves a lot. I haven't read this book yet, but let me suggest something for consideration. Teaching is a biblical term and is used much more than the "preaching" term. So, understanding how these terms are used biblically is a good starting point. In addition, to say that teaching is simply helping one understand the truth (in an intellectual way) and not really targeting the affections may not be supported by scripture. It is certainly supported by our logic and reason and use of the word in culture today, but perhaps we shouldn't lean here. Finally, the biggest issue of all is the role of the Holy Spirit in revealing all of God's truth to us. We are dependent on the Spirit entirely, not on our scholastic approaches to the subject. Just some food for the thought from someone very blessed by the UNION series.
