39% for Prigozhin is fake data clearly) There were pools where he got around 4% if I'm not mistaken (it's more than most officials, ministers etc, but not too impressive) Around 40% of respondents choose an unspecified alternative candidate which means any candidate you can imagine, even the ones that don't exist. In reality, Putin would kill or send to jail anyone with such a high percentage in the pool since they would be considered a threat to his regime. That's exactly what happened with every more or less popular politician in Russia (Nemtsov, Navalny, Yashin, Roizman), even with loyalists (Furgal, Grudinin). Not to mention that there is no way that 39+% would support a person that insists on full mobilization. Even brainwashed people, mostly, don't really want to die in agony - otherwise, the first wave of mobilisation and contract recruitment would go smoother

A minor correction - the weather in Ukraine was best for counter-offensives in early May. Starting June, summer rains will likely be significant to impact military actions at least until July/August, when it's generally low humidity and therefore best for tank breakthroughs. So while the spring counter-offensive is imminent, it's probably going to take at least until mid-summer to actually hit.
@cloudpoint0
@cloudpoint0 10 ай бұрын
It doesn’t seem that bad to me. Monday just ended. The weather forecast for the Donetsk area is no rain until late at night on Saturday and only sprinkles the next day. T-Storms with isolated showers are expected on the Wednesday of next week, followed by sprinkles again the next day. So light rain three days out of the next 14 (Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday with only Wednesday possibly consequential).
@ethantwolfe
@ethantwolfe 10 ай бұрын
@@cloudpoint0 That's still relatively consistent rainfall. Wet soil, even if not saturated, can hold potential problems for the heavy tonnage of vehicles -- and any rainfall will affect the morale and health of soldiers.

@@cloudpoint0 Sure, was only speaking in generalities and if anything, Mother Nature seems to be on the UAF side, so the rains will pour only when it's beneficial to Ukraine.
@johnzuijdveld9585
@johnzuijdveld9585 10 ай бұрын
I don't know anything about soils in Ukraine but whenever I've seen areas where it's really muddy, it looks like very fine clay and almost slimy, clay soils can hold a lot of moisture so even when it seems dry and hard on the surface, once you start to drive heavy vehicles over it the vibrations can cause the soil to liquefy similar to what happens in an earthquake and your tank is stuck. So, the UAF. do need to be cautious, I think.
@cloudpoint0
@cloudpoint0 10 ай бұрын
@@ethantwolfe Yes, there is consistently light rain (aka drizzle) on the 3 days that rain is predicted to occur, and consistently a drought on the other 11 days, out to June 16 anyway (no rain is predicted late on Saturday now). Eastern Ukraine’s rainy season generally ends by mid-June and then it stays dry until October. Southern and Eastern Ukraine are very arid flat areas, best for grassland crops like wheat and corn. Too much rain is not usually a concern. Crimea is a semi-desert too, and that’s where Ukraine’s army is headed. Rain doesn’t cause mud in the warm part of Ukraine’s year. It’s mostly a winter’s worth of melting snow that turns roads into mud in the spring. The dirt roads in eastern Ukraine are as hard as rock now that the underlying soil has fully dried out. The soil usually dries out by mid-April and we are over a month and a half past that point now. Any new rain quickly runs off the hard surface that’s like pavement. June’s hot temperatures also quickly dry out the soil after any new rain. Do you know what military vehicles are used if roads turn into deep mud? That's right, tracked vehicles (e.g. MBTs and Bradleys). They are only slowed down a bit by mud but they are not stopped. Wheeled vehicles do experience problems and this can affect resupply if paved roads are not close by.

I also always watch it, even though I live in the central region of Ukraine. It's just that the Ukrainian news is very poorly and ineffectively organized and instead of the situation at the front, it shows civilians killed by the rUSSIANs. It also pisses me off that there is a lot of talk about Germany and France. Ignoring such countries as Sweden, for example. Although Sweden has always supported Ukraine even in previous eras, such as the National Liberation War under the leadership of Bohdan Khmelnytskіy or the Great Northern War.

A lot of people don't understand to Prigozhin and Putin or others. I get it. But i study politology and Prigozhin is for me one of the best examples of Machiavelli's in this century. This guy is smart, have money and a lot of connexons. Also, he has reputation. His army is loyal to him too. All of these aspects make him very dangerous and his power expand since Kremlin is scared of him because they need him. For me, he has everything to fight Putin for power.

Hi, I wanna ask what's Machiavelli in his personality, do you think he is also dangerous to Putin? And Putin should get rid of him?

Yeah, he's eerily close to Caesar. A personally loyal army, he achieved a significant military victory where nobody else could, he has enough money to support his military efforts, he's highly popular among certain segments of the population, and there's general discontent with the current political establishment. I don't think it's very likely, but I think there's a nonzero chance that Prigozhin crosses the Rubicon. We can only hope he does.

@@asteroctavian7408 Well, there are 3 signs of Machiavelli 1. he is pragmatic and cynic. 2. he is not moral. 3. He is doing everything to look like good guy. Prigozhin has everything. Also, Machiavelli's is deeper than this, Guys like Prigozhin or himself Machiavelli are always smart guys with a lot of fame. Also, no Putin would never go for him because he need him. Prigozhin basically flaming others like Shojgu because he wants to be Putin right hand and Putin didn't appear for everyone like idiot. Also, he is right. Because Iam pretty sure...Shojgu and others doesn't even report everything from battlefront to Putin. So Putin doesn't even have idea what's going on. So nope....Putin needs guy like Prigozhin.

It'll be interesting to see how those F-16's are going to change things. I imagine they'll need to be used more for close air support so they can work within the safety net of the Patriot and other Ukranian air defenses. Still, for those on the ground, every little bit helps, and it'll be nice hearing incoming fighters and knowing they are friendlies. Thank you for keeping us up to speed on the strategic and geo-political situations pertaining to the war in Ukraine!!

TBH, nothing much. See, the role of the Ukrainian Airforce at best would be to provide air cover during the Ukraine offence... Unlike during defence, AD can't provide adequate air support during offensive action. I'd love to see how things actually turn out during the upcoming offensive with tanks and armoured vehicles.

We have delivered everything by now as far as I can tell except for maybe the archers which may or may not be there yet idk. They will come this summer if they aren’t there already. This is just basic summary of things I’ve seen the last weeks or maybe the last month or so.

Prigozhin isn't fed up with this war at all. He's rather fed up with the incompetence and Russian ground force elements unable to hold off to their gains. Just imagine sacrificing 1000 of Your best men under contracts to gain a city in a week and handing it over to the military only for them to lose your progress in One day cowardly retreat. Just FYI , wagner hates Russian bureaucracy more than they hate Ukrainians. And it won't surprise me if Prigozhin had told the truth regarding the Russian Defence Minister Shoighu not supplying the PMC with enough munitions and he's been telling the truth all together but His bet worked off in Russia's favor.

3:45 Hardly curious. The Bakhmut & flanks situation is just like the many line-"corrections" at the very end of Great War offensives when both sides tacitly agreed to simplify an area so they could redeploy elsewhere, and only disagreed on exactly where a straighter line would go. If this was an attempt to bag Russian forces on the Bakhmut front, the UKR would not me focusing on the salients, but rather the bases of the salients.

What I liked about Ukrainian army is not to rush the counter offensive. It's better to be prepared even when the enemy is currently in disarray. This waiting game affected more on the Russian than Ukrainian defenders because they knew the outcome with fully supplied weapons from the West will heavily tip the odds towards the Ukrainian victory. If Russia launched a nuclear attack on Ukrainian soil i think Putin can kiss his Presidency goodbye

The "damaged" patriot system was hit from fallen debris. The system has multiple components spread kms apart and one of its launchers was damaged, but the part apparently costs less than 5k to replace and didnt affect operation. Which for a system woth ~1 billion very minor part. Also its much more likely that the patriot system shot down the 4 aircraft within russia than FF. It just doesnt make sense they would shot down 4 of their own aircraft on a strike that was planned. Some of the missiles from the patriot can track targets without "lighting" them up until the last second which is why the pilots had no warnings. It also explains why the Russians were trying so hard to destroy the system. The channel "habitual line crosser" talks about this in his videos and he is very qualified about the subject and works for the US military in that feild currently.

this isn't a video game, lots of fact are hidden cause no one wants to give firm numbers on what actually losses are and what are left. In an example the battle of brittian. German Air crew inflated their numbers of RAF losses so when they made their big push. They encounter more planes than they had expect and took it in the chin. RAF wasn't sure about their number but suspect they did good enough to end the blitz but if they were wrong german be in london within a week. RAF numbers were better than german as both side were exhausted at the end. Germans just lack the factory and the pilot to keep up with all the losses.

Yes but we do have rough estimates. Doesn't have to be 100% accurate ut it would give a better sense of how much has truly been loss. The loss of 2000 our of 50000 tanks isn't much compared to 2000 out of 5000. Giving a rough idea of how much they have gives a better since for losses rather than just a number
