the class "starts" on their next assignment. Since "starts" is used doesn't that mean "the class" is functioning as a unit which is singular therefore singular pronoun should be used like "with it's". Please clarify I am a learner, I don't want to make mistakes in exams. Thanking you in advance. 8:03

Why is "class" singular in the first example and plural in the second? How do I know the difference?

@@m2stz Isn't the first one refers to an action( lesson, topic or something like that) while the second refers to people or students being generally called as ' CLASS'. At least that is my understanding. Just correct me if I'm wrong. haha
