I want to know how to combine an SSD and an HDD but the thing here is that I want all the information on the HDD but I want it to go by itself to the HDD and not to the SSD???
@niko1even4 жыл бұрын
MODULO 3 LUIS FER it’s best just to use separate drives for that, just put your most used stuff in your ssd and the stuff that is big and not used much in the hard drive. There however is one way you can sort of do that: Intel Optane.
@niko1even3 жыл бұрын
@牟宏林 that's an option if you're on a budget. You will have better control over your storage if you choose the ssd and hdd option, but that's also a good option.

@BrawndoQC8 жыл бұрын
Cool vid, I'm using 3x 1TB in Raid-0, but considering adding a 4th drive and do Raid-5, it would give me the same size as 3 disks in Raid-0. I'll lose write speed, but constantly backing up to external storage for backups for fear of losing your data can get old fast. You still need to backup Raid-5, but at least you have time to replace the failed hard drive, and while you wait, you still have your data in place.

Raid 1 and 0 in a nutshell: Raid 0 - Symbiotic relationship between two hdds and double the speed and storage, virtually one drive Raid 1 - Pretty much having an identical drive. Backup.
@GrandNebSmada9 жыл бұрын
Ethan From 7B Raid is not backup, it is simply a safety precaution. It is still highly recommended to do external backups

I set up Raid 10 on my Mac using Yosemite. I am using 4 two terabyte drives. I erased them using MS-DOS (FAT). Then mirrored two of them labeling them Raid1 and Raid1(2) then added the two raided drives and labeled them with a random name no spaces and striped the two Raid1 and 2 together. Everything seems ok it is showing 4 Terabytes in Disk Utilities but when I go to finder it is showing 1.8 Terabytes... Why the discrepancy what am I doing wrong...
