I am currently capturing raw + jpg in my d7200. When I compare them, I have always seen the processed jpg generated from raw to be much better than jpg from the camera. Might be I have not yet mastered the exposure to be perfect right from the camera. So for newbies like me getting both might be very useful if we have time to do the post processing.
