Love the blue and black accents... I’m not a fan of convertibles but GM did a great job with the C8 ! Not losing any trunk space is a major deal, with the coupe you lose having to store the roof panel back there... I would go for the convertible too, so what you cant see the engine..

I also ordered the 2021 non-z51 rapid blue convertible with the tension blue interior and the spectra gray wheels. However I also opted for the performance exhaust and the mag ride. I'm hoping that Chevy adds the high wing spoiler back to the option list. If so I will add it to my build. I cannot wait to get my car.

Great thoughts and logic in your choices. I have same thoughts between coupe and convertible. I agree the balance between being able to see the engine and having to keep it clean sways my thinking to the convertible. You should have no reservations in owning a Corvette. I have owned 2 and pray I can get into a 2021. Thank again for your insight. BTW , your production of your videos is top notch.

Rick, as a viewer here on your channel for nearly 2 years, I've grown to appreciate the perspective you've gained from your many years with Corvette. That puts you in a position shared by your many Corvette clients who've also had years of experience with the different generations. This has allowed you to make the choices you want to make with the package you've shared with us today. As far as I'm concerned, your reasoning makes perfect sense to me, too. Rick - Thanks for sharing your C8 specs. I understand the reason for your choices and agree with most. I like blue but mine would be Elkhart. 1st choice Torch Red. Splash guards, good choice, I have them on my C6 Grand Sport as part of the wide body. Front Lift is needed for my driveway. Go for the Museum Delivery. I have seen the video and I would do it. I know you will enjoy the ride. The Dream is almost over!!!

Rick, thanks for joining the real club ownership with your purchase of a 2021 C8 convertible. I also am in line for mine. It is Torch Red, black top with most of the bells and whistles ($99 +). This is my first corvette and I am treating myself to my retirement gift to me. Does anyone out there know how to start a Go Fund me account for Rick to get at lease a front lift or something a little extra. I will give $25 to start. He has a lot of followers that feel the same as me. To me he is priceless! Old Lady here! Thank you for your( lifetime) dedication to the Corvette. Go for it. Just do it!

Rick, color is a non issue, all the colors are gorgeous, I hated Rapid Blue when I saw it on KZbin. Then I saw it at the museum, Holy Crap was I wrong! Great build, can't wait to see it. When my 2021 gets here me and the wife are coming up to see you. Just want to meet you, and go back to the museum on the way!

Hey Rick, thanks for sharing your future ride with us. I fully understand about being uncomfortable getting the car but also excited. The uncomfortable will go away when you start driving the car! But even that might take a while. When I bought my first Corvette (a used 2007 ZO6 in Lemans blue), I didn't let anybody know I bought it except for my immediate family. It took a year and a half before I was comfortable enough to drive it to work in 2012! I am looking forward to you sharing your car when you get it in the spring of next year. You are a true gentleman and rightfully represent Corvette!

Congradulations Rick. Good specs although I think you may regret not ordering the front end lift. Everything else is fine. One thing. Why not open up your horizons and opertunities? You have a past background in radio. Why not take the next step and start a radio or a live youtube talkshow with callers calling in and also have guest star speakerson occasion? You have the skills obviously for this and now even have a solid following with your weekly youtube videos, therefore the viewers will follow. A live show may even put you on a world wide stage. Think about it. You can even travel the country on occasion to host the show in different states. Think of the possibilities...Think of the sponsers and new customers you could get.

Great video Rick and all your choices seem logical and will look fantastic IMHO...I wasn’t able to get a Corvette until I was 68 years old (4years ago) and love driving the car, heck I even like washing and waxing it. If I hit the lotto...my spec for a C8 will mirror yours. My C6 is Jetstream Blue...and when I saw the Rapid Blue I immediately knew that would be my first choice...keep the videos coming, can’t wait to see your delivery video.

My father has a 1972 Stingray convertible and I have great memories of us together in it. I have my 2020 Stingray convertible sitting at level 3000 right now for the same reason...to make memories with my two sons! Really enjoyed this video and it brought back many memories. Thank you!

Think about how many car buyers go to the lot to select a car already to go. Very hard to say my dream car. With Corvette every owner can choose the exact color,options, etc.. My spec is similar. This is my first corvette. I did the arctic white convertible non z51. I did add the magnatraction and front lift. Edge red fender stripes w edge red calibers. Thinking about the black narcelles. I'm 21 on dealer list. Can you put the part number for the front that u ordered on your blog.

Just wanted you to know that I only started watching your channel about 2 months ago because I am current;y planning to buy my first corvette in about a year (Either a C3 or C5, can't afford a new one with a kid in college and a junior in high school). As I was doing research I stumbled upon your channel and the information you give about the new corvette is both entertaining and informative. But, what I like the most is they way you capture what a car can mean to somebody, I sir have the same passion for cars and was never really able to explain it. I currently have 165 1:18 scale die-cast cars in my collection and I started collecting them because it was unrealistic to have a "toy"car. Now I have a plan in place to join the corvette family and will continue to support your channel. best of luck to you and your family and I would definitely do the museum delivery if I were you.

Owning a 87 C-4 drop-top, yeah it doesn’t have a Z-51 package and the ride is fine for everyday use and glad it is as smooth as it is. But the C-7 has the Z07 package and even then I had to swap the tires to all weather (from your posts) so I could take trips. Don’t I think Ii will track either... Maybe.

Was just out at Spring Mountain and saw a few C8 convertibles. I saw a few C8 coupes and the engines were filthy from a big dust storm they had. Really made me think twice about ordering a coupe, when the time comes. Convertibles have advantages. You'll love it, because it's what YOU want! Congrats! Scott from Fredericksburg, VA

That’s going to be a gorgeous car. I understand your feeling about are you being selfish in getting a car. The purchase is not practical, but because of the memories you will create with you family it is worth it. My wife thought she would never ride in the car and she can’t get enough of it. I got my car 3 months ago and we have had so many fun moments in the car. If this won’t create a financial burden for your family, then enjoy it with your whole family while you can.

You and I have VERY similar views on our builds. I have a different situation for the front lift. No Z51 here as well. Wife told me, “I don’t think you will get one because you never buy yourself anything nice, you always buy nice stuff for everyone else.” Not that I needed the extra incentive, but getting her blessing was perfect. Morning Rick Congrats on your 2021 Rapid Blue Convertible Order really spec. out great for 3LT. I know it's hard to pick everything you would want on the car, but it can always be added later like I've done with all my corvettes even now I like what I did with the tension blue stripes and the upgraded most of the interior to tension blue except the competition seats two tone look makes the admiral blue convertible really stand out with two different blue colors. People really like the 2 different colors on the vette I'm always getting complements on it.I like the Rapid Blue also even though I ordered yellow still could change. You forgot the most important thing for your what's going to be on your VANITY Plate related to ZORA since you mentioned him many times so now your getting his dream later than could have been done in the past. Well deserved Rick!!! I sold my C7 Grand Sport 8 months ago and I am seriously thinking about the C8 convertible. I will however wait for all of this allocation to be behind us. As a fellow KZbinr, I cannot imagine buying the C8 from anyone but you. I would spec my C8 nearly identical to yours and I would also buy it to make memories with my 12 year old daughter, I would actually bring her up to pick up the car and meet you. Rick, I agree with your reasoning on how you came up with your order, I think you deserve this car you have paid your dues so just go and enjoy it when it comes in.When I ordered my '20 which is now turned into a '21,I went with my gut on the color only to have the color not made anymore so I replaced the lbr with the new the red mist which I think is going to be very popular. One more thing, I had money on you jumping in the lake at the end of the video,kinda of a microphone drop moment,it's not too late you can go back and reshoot the ending.

Awesome, Rick. Nice spec, and glad about the vert choice. As for the front lift, take a C8 and try that lot entry/exit you mention...you'll know then for sure. Congrats, and there's a lot of folks exited for you just as you're excited about our oders.
