Awesome explanation love it! The only thing that I'm still confused at is: If you get shock because your are not getting enough oxygen to your tissues, does that mean that hypoxia if left untreated could lead to shock?

I've been in shock before, almost got swept into a raging river with adrenaline pumping I grabbed and held on to a rope until I was helped back to shore, I felt hot, as if my entire body was radiating heat and I felt heavy, but after I took a shower and laid down it went away, but it was a feeling I'd never forget.

In paramedic training they tell you shock is a radical imbalance of perfusion. We also learned about compensated and decompensated shock, which they didn't tell us about when I was an EMT-B. They only told us about compensated shock. I've only seen one person besides myself live through decompensated shock. You have to be right there with medical help to save someone from decompensated shock.

If they think THAT visual's bad they should see how much a patient with ebola loses. We were only told about it and the sheer amount made me queasy. That much fluid loss in a day? They probably die of shock before they do the bacteria.

A stroke is death of the tissue in a part of the brain due to lack of circulation, an artary can get blocked or it can rupture causing the tissue it supplies to die. Shock is the generalized ischemia explained in this video.
