could you do a video showing each night of this with products you suggest and order of use?

Definitely!

I did see this this on TikTok and she said if you’re more used to retinoids, you can do a 3 day cycle. I’ve been doing the 4 day to start and have seen a nice improvement in my skin.

Hi! I’d like to know about skin cycling while combining with a routine that includes doing a 30% AHA 2% BHA (The Ordinary peeling solution) each week for hyper pigmentation reducing purposes

I still have yet to find a sunscreen that does not cause terrible blackheads. Also I had slight pigmentation on my upper lip after having my daughter any advice on that or products that I could use while breast-feeding

Be sure to look for something states non comedogenic
@KennaWhitnell2 жыл бұрын
Azelaic acid could help in this situation. You may want to try double cleansing to make sure all of the sunscreen is being removed at the end of the day!

Have you tried any Korean or Japanese brands’ chemical spfs? I’ve had a lot of luck with those more advanced formulas.
@genesisansbro49362 жыл бұрын
@@heavenlylatte I have not, wouldn’t even know where to start with that one 😅 any specific recommendations?
@genesisansbro49362 жыл бұрын
@@KennaWhitnell thank you, I will have to try that out. If not I’m thinking of seeing a dermatologist about it. Kind of a bummer to have it happen my second pregnancy.

What about in night 5, 6 and 7? What do we have to do with those?
@melissacordner64852 жыл бұрын
It is a 4 night cycle. Once you finish night 4 you start back to night 1. For example: Sun - night 1 - exfoliate Mon - night 2 - renintoid Tues - night 3 - recover Wed- night 4 - recover Thurs -night 1 - exfoliate Fri - night 2 - renintoid Sat- night 3 - recover Sun - night 4 - recover Just keep repeating the cycle.

Azelaic acid is perfectly fine to use!

I believe it's the Korean brand "Lagom"

Yes it’s the Lagom cellus sun gel. I have it linked in my summer 2022 faves

Why can't you use an occlusive on top of retinoids??
@KennaWhitnell2 жыл бұрын
It drives it deeper into the skin in a kind of uncontrolled way and can cause damage / burning/ irritation. It is highly NOT recommended
@vesbarrow2 жыл бұрын
I never slug on the nights I use retinol or exfoliating acid.

@@KennaWhitnell didn't know, I have used vaseline after my tretinoin😳. Thanks for the information.
@azamean2 жыл бұрын
I've heard conflicting information on this, specifically from Dr Dray, but I think it's the order of use? She recommends when starting to 'buffer' tretinoin by putting vaseline on FIRST and then the retinoid on top
@KennaWhitnell2 жыл бұрын
Yes using Vaseline first will make the retinoid more tolerable and less intense on the skin! But using Vaseline after does the opposite
@AuntBethanys2 жыл бұрын
2 things. I am an Esthetician of 25 yrs, and have to disagree with the occlusive thing, with a caveat, it’s perfectly fine to use an occlusive over your retinoids, retinol, tret, etc. The caveat is that it’s not recommended for newbies to those products. But if you are adjusted it’s totally not an issue. Lots of Doctors even recommend it. Second “skin cycling” isn’t new. Lots of us Esties and Dermatologists have been setting up these type “plans” for decades. It was even part of our education to create these types of plans for clients and patients.
@KennaWhitnell2 жыл бұрын
I definitely err on the side of caution with all the advice/ tips I give and generally expect that people are new to these things when they are watching my content. Skin cycling isn’t new but this term has been now trademarked and used by the derm mentioned in my video and her TikTok about it went viral - which is why I am referring to skin cycling as a “trend”. Of course this is just another name for a “skincare regimen” using AHAs and retinoids
@AuntBethanys2 жыл бұрын
@@KennaWhitnell for sure!!! Crazy that it’s trademarked 😏 I’m sure lots of my mentors and colleagues have opinions on that 🤣 I guess that’s how it is these days. The first one to name is the one who claims it.
