I graduated with a BBA in Management with a second major in Global Supply Chain Management and I can say that Supply chain is definitely a more technical degree. It’s actually harder than a management degree too. It is considered a business degree but I would consider it as STEM degree too due to learning six sigma, Kaizen, material management and ERP systems. It’s a great degree. I already got accepted to the masters program specializing in supply chain management. For everyone who has cold feet, supply chain management is an important and beneficial degree that can provide job opportunities in the manufacturing industry. I personally love it.

I wouldn’t say it’s more relevant, it’s just been more recognized by the general populace because of the pandemic. Without supply chains, companies cannot operate as the supply change is in charge of buying supplies, making products, and moving products/supplies.

Also, a degree in SCM is not enough, if you truly want to make it in the SCM industry and be competitive and relevant, ESPECIALLY, if you lack the experience, I suggest you get certifications as well such as from ASCM or ISM. I graduated in 2018 with a Business SCM degree and had 8 years experience from the military working in logistics. I landed a job as an Operations Manager for GEODIS with a starting salary of $80,000 plus bonuses in Southern California. I’m a Senior Ops Manager now for the same company. I'm surprised that people's opinion on the meaning of Supply Chain Management is on the lower side. I'm an outsider looking to get into the field, and one of the reasons I'm interested is seeing how vital people that organize supply chains are for society to function properly. From coordinating how food gets to stores or more luxurious items like how smartphones need raw materials to be turned into things like batteries and chips to be assembled to be distributed, it always seemed like quite a vital job for a happy, functioning society. One that isn't thought of a lot, but vital nonetheless. Things need to get places, and we need people to figure out how, efficiently.

I am studying supply chain management and ops, in uni we had a meeting with a bunch of professionals and the procurement people said it really doesn't hurt since most people don't have it! also my degree automatically grants you level 4 and it tops at 6. if you attend a cips certified course it may be the same.

Hi I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! I have a question! Do you know what “applied” mean in applied business management? Because I know there’s a degree called business management but without “applied” Doesn't that word detract from the title? what is the difference between applied business management and business management? And also, does applied business management worth it? I would appreciate with all my heart if you answer me. Make a video please!!
@maxpc41093 жыл бұрын
I can give you a very clear example that will make the "Applied" very clear. I was studying Bachelor of Business (Economics & finance) Applied. The Applied in my university indicate one full year of paid work experience with a credit included in your degree. This year is the last after I finish the whole major. So in conclusion, Applied degrees is a degree with applied work experience in the exact field you are studying.

But there are loads to chose from. You can work 9-5 or work even on weekends. Remember Apple is on top because of its supply chain. Just saying.
