Always divide the word into smaller sound units before making them read orally. This will also helps in remembering spelling. Practice is the key. Zyada words ek saath math padaiye start with 2-3 words a day . Relate the fruit name the phonics of the letters in the spelling. Dictation, missing letters , choose correct spelling use these type of exercises if he is forgetting the spellings again and again

Though English has phonics bt it is not spelled as it sounds. So sight words are of great rescue. Teach sight words and definitely you will see improvement. Apart from sight words the big words should be broken down to smaller parts for easy reading. Daily one paragraph reading practice is must.
