Well, one reason is, some people are living in a way that they want to look nice, but are doing things they can't reveal, so they are in denial. It would seem like this disease is serious enough that you'd get it taken care of, but some people just wait for the symptoms to disappear and think they dodged a bullet. This is not the same as the life of a person who can't get access to medical care.
