A defence for the gatto style: I believe my shoulder mobility is less than average. One does not immidiately hit the forearm with the end of the handle, only in the final part when the hand is escorting the club up along ones back. And one does get leverage/swing from the wrist although to a lesser degree. Triple spins are no problem altough quads might be. A matter of taste of course. But when done right, not very demanding physiologically. The reason, btw, I mostly switched to gatto style, was that it made directing backcrosses upwards quite a bit more stable. For singles they work less well.

I always so, whatever works for you is the best for you. If it works, it works. If it doesnt, try something else

What are your thoughts on hand placement as the catch is made? For example, the hand can be behind the body, directly in plane with the body, or in front of the body. Which one do you recommend?

Kai Sosceles I recommend catching in front of your body. That way you can continue into anything you want and your throws will always start from the same position
