What Is The Best Build(Late Game)(Patch 1.03)~Final Fantasy XVI

Hi guys! In this late game video I go over the best build you can have before New Game+ in Final Fantasy XVI!
I said the only way our prior build would get outshined was if there was a mechanic I was unaware of and today that mechanic has been revealed. I hope you're ready to sail by the game with this fun and easy to use build!
Before you go for the burst make sure you have a Level 5 Zantetsuken, the Will Gauge is very close to breaking and a level 4 Megaflare. Dodging an enemy's attack is preferred so you don’t get hit when setting up. Pop a Strength Potion and:
Megaflare
Place Lightning Rod
The enemy should Stagger soon after
Diamond Dust
Rift Slip+Cold Snap
Limit Break(Charge Attack and press Eikonic Feat to get a faster Zantetsuken)
Zantetsuken(End Limit Break when the first bar is almost depleted)

You can probably try timing Megaflare to be the stagger hit and then you'll be free to drop Lightning Rod. I'm VERY interested in seeing the damage on this with Limit Break and Strength Tonic though.

@@RuneKatashima If one were to truly min-max then Torgal would break the enemy but that can be hard to setup when allies can attack when you're trying to chip away on the almost nonexistent Will Gauge. I couldn't pull it off on anything in the game. Once I optimized it, they all died at second Zantetsuken. The video is in the pinned comments!

​@@Naztalgic_MemoriesYeah. I did exactly that with doggo and got 280k with megaflare then diamond dust then zan then lightning rod and second Zan then gigaflare then judgement bolt. And I got like 3 seconds left of stagger but all abilities were on cool down 💀

The best I've done is a little over 500k in a stagger combo. Most bosses won't let you do that though as they stop taking damage because they need to perform their super move before taking damage again.

The HP Gate is annoying. I understand why it's in the Story Mode but they should have removed it for Final Fantasy Mode and Ultimania so players can express how much better they have gotten.

It was so fun optimizing each trash pack and killing them as fast as I could. Later came Heavenwards and the other expansion where they killed it. Good times!

Question? I just unlocked Odin and mastered the entire ability grid. The merchant in Dravozd still does not have the Breath of Darkness (Dancing Steel). She has only the orchestration scroll and curatives. What do I have to do to unlock the accessory?

That's odd Defil! I suggest continuing the Main Story and it should be there as you progress!

Thank you Shadow! Cold Snap immobilizes them but the game does not tell you it also freezes the enemies Stagger Bar so you can get more hits in you normally wouldn't!

Yeah, Longer animation is what we want here for CDs, also I believe Flames of Rebirth gives more limit break.

Judgement Bolt does more damage but the Ultimate's used in the video are used to buy time so Rift Slip comes off cooldown so we can cycle it so Dancing Steel comes back off cooldown!

Yea I learned this the hard way I don’t like flames of rebirth because it takes so long to charge the next one so I tried a bunch of things till I realized my dancing steel or lightning rod wasn’t done charging at the end and I couldn’t get the thirst one that being said I have yet to pull this off correctly like the video a lot times the cold snap misses or the original lightning bolt somehow moves/ isn’t in front of you anymore when u go to do the dancing steel but when u get it it’s glorious

At lv 50 with the highest dammage gear and setup I have yet to fight anything that survives 2 zans and gigaflaire. Unless it has an hp threshold but im just wasting damage at that point.

problem in this game is unless you do it in practice mode, even S rank just brely survive with just double zantes, so i just use 2 potion boost accs and pull of darkness in end game, 2 potion accs will increase potion power 90% more make it as effective as hi-potion

This whole strat gets buffed by the new controller layouts right? Been a type C user the whole time but holding square while tapping circle for faster Zantetsuken was always awkward. Type F layout seems actually perfect now! Also, lot of people complaining about all these different overpowered Eikon skills stringing together clearly didn’t pay any attention at all to the last 1/4 of the story and what Clive is 🤣🤣

Tbh at first I was a bit annoyed because I’d gotten used to Type C and would’ve preferred Type F from the start but now after getting so used to R1 being dodge it’s pretty much impossible to ever miss permafrosting everything. It’s hard to see what you’d use the regular dodge for nowadays, outside of Megaflare charging 😅

With the Breath of Darkness do you have to get to a certain point in the game, or do a certain sidequest to buy it? I have the village open, but when I go to the merchant there's only a song sheet for sale.

Hi Black! Your Main Story Quest needs to say "Go To Origin"! Once it says that you'll also need to complete either Trading Places or Duty Undying Sidequest to have the vendor sell the accessory. I am not sure which one it is as I already had it unlocked but a member of community said they sold the item after they did those two Side Quest. If you can pin point which one then I'd appreciate the information to pass on to others!

​@@Savileaurusno dancing steel is essential. Just dont use it and instead use his other build that is a double zan build. Ull deal around 100k less dammage but I have yet to see anything take the full combo unless it has an hp gate.

Is anyone having issues with the position of the lightning rod before enemy is staggered, and the enemy resets to the 'middle' of the stage instead of where it was right next to the lightning rod?

I haven't come across this issue Baygon. It could just be a very rare situation.

It is enemy dependent. Some enemies like story bosses move to the middle when they get staggered. If this happens just do it after ur first diamond dust and lv 5. It's good for dammage but u can get 3 lv5 if u replace it before u diamond dust. U really just want it for dancing steel for the guaranteed lv 5 charge cause it hits the orb. It's better to alwyas get 3 zams and do little bit less dammage on the first one than it is to get two optiomal ones.

You can test it for yourself and see Carlos. I tested this for three days before releasing it to the public. I wouldn't have anything that is not necessary unless it helped the rotation.

Ridiculous damage😂 doesnt it kinda trivialize encounters tho? Not in game+ yet but i didnt use a single potion in my playthrough and barely died like 3 times to bosses (except svalrog when i was 10 lvl under took me about 2h30 lol) . Game is pretty easy in my opinion, cant wait to to in ng+ and try maniac mode

Cold Snap freezes the enemy Koroyo so they cannot move. When they are Staggered the bar doesn't fill up meaning you can do more damage!

How do you have so few ap? How do you not even put the few hundred required to master your MAIN COMBAT MOVEMENTS like jumping and striking, thrusting, 4x combo? The inner circle of moves cost SO LITTLE and are COMPLETELY NECESSARY to even MOVE PROPERLY on the battlefield You are TERRIBLE to not upgrade that stuff

If u run a build like this the fight is over when u stagger the enemy mainly. So I guess it's a way to make the game a little bit more enjoyable instead of just spamming ur abilities to delete everything.

cant believe there are guides like this that only optimizes builds around "when" the enemies are staggered. This is a good build for snapshotting godlike damage since more than half of the abilities are the eikon's ultimate or whatever, but outside of practice mode this aint doable

What do you want to optimize outside of Stagger Windows? You have Judgement Rod and Dancing Steel for Trash with Flames of Rebirth for sustain and healing. Zantetsuken kills any trash. For bosses just Cold Snap and Rift Slip Magic burst to bring the Will Gauge low.

Like after the cinematic I staggered him and then dumped all of my damage and zan'd him twice because I messed up my combo and got him to his lowest hp threshold at 1 and then I was waiting for him to using the final attack but he never used it I was kiting him around for about 15 mins before I let myself die and then held off of my damage at 10% then he finally did the final attack and died

Rift Slip slows down time if you cancel and Ability or Action. Cold Snap freezes the stagger bar from increasing. These two combine give you more time.

@@Naztalgic_Memories you can make all you're accessories twice as good so you're able to shorten the cool down timers even more or make abilities hit harder or just boost your stats higher than you can in the normal playthrough opening up new possibilities. You can even buy multiple copies of the same accessories I haven't tried doubling up on them yet but you might be able to. Not to mention the added difficulty is just way more fun.

It's disheartening getting a B rank when you clear the stage as quick as possible and take very little damage. It's like what did I do wrong? Oh you didn't take your time with each pack doing the least amount of damage to accumulate points. I don't really do score modes in video games but going the slowest possible to milk points seems like the system needs an overhaul.

This comment was fucking stupid when it was posted but aged like milk left in the afghan summer desert heat with rising tide on the way. It is very very obvious there is a significant narrative reason got levi being in this time compressed almost peter pan never land type of place. The dominant doesnt age normally so theyve never died. This makes them both unavailable to us but also to Ultima. The dlc could quite literally alter the final boss canonically. Water being the rock to fires scissors isnt lost on anyone either. Bottom line no he was perfect as Odin. He is a perfectly real eikon earliest I remember is ff8 whereas Garuda was made for ff14 I think why arent you complaining there? If you arent having a massive skill issue with the game like you obviously are he is by far the best eikon move set wise. Rift slip is the single best move in the game

Fucking one of the worst comments I have ever seen regarding this game. 1. Playing on NG+ ff mode you can easily skip all cutscenes be they big story moments or 20 seconds side quest bs. That takes 20 hours minimum off the game 2. Side quest on NG+ have the value you decide they do and if you want to improve your accessories to +1/2 if not skip them all just cut another 12-15 hours off 3. "Slamming the same abilities over and over again." It is clear youre bitter massively regarding your significant skill issue with this game and brute forced with shit set ups chugging potions. Yeah shocker no one is surprised nor cares you had a bad time playing this way

These builds are late game and are therefore balanced around new game plus and final fantasy mode I can assure you that this build does not make the game easy. It makes outside of the stagger window slightly more difficult while setting up optimal damage for inside of the stagger window. There is no easy build on final fantasy mode it’s do you want stagger window damage or do you want will damage and this build focuses on stagger window damage in an optimal way.

Oh wow I didn't know that was a thing Doji! You can still make the build work but it'll be hard. You would have to place the Lightning Rod down 10 seconds before you stagger. I recommend just using my other build on the channel and buying it on New Game+ when you get to the vendor again!
