I am a coffee lover indeed!! I have grown up having my parents grinding and making fresh coffee every single morning and I would wake up to the homely cozy aroma of freshly made coffee even if I was not allowed to have it (I was little). I love coffee, I always buy it organic when possible and I don't like to add anything to it other than the coffee itself! I used to drink many cups of coffee out of stress which only added more... once I realized that, I completely stopped for a year and learnt the importance of being grateful, enjoying the moment of that wonderful cup of coffee which kicked the addiction! I have a cup of coffee on most days, but I enjoy it profoundly when I haven't had it for a few days, then I make myself one cup of coffee, I sit down, enjoy the aroma, the flavour, and I thank God for it and the moment to enjoy one of the little pleasures God gives us :) I thank you for making this video, I believe I have come across of a post or video on the best alternative to coffee (parsley?) and I am looking forward to the time to sit down and enjoy that information! God bless you and the work you do for God!

We are seniors, 78 & 83, our youngest son got us started on Keto Coffee by Fat Fuel. Due to indigestion after regular coffee, we make in to a morning shake along with protein whey powder, multi collagen, green stuff, and a teaspoon of coffee crystals. The Keto coffee includes MCT oil powder, grass fed butter powder, coconut oil organic coffee and Redmond real salt. It is delicious and gives us the good fats needed in our diet. We add a big cup of ice and blend. It’s our morning treat.

Coffee is one of the main subjects in our home. My husband buys raw beans from various locations and roasts them himself. He keeps them in a vacuum canister and has an electric grinder and does a pour over method. This takes a while. (He weighs out the beans, too) He uses a good portion of our counter space! He enjoys the freshness and it is like a dessert. When he doesn't have the time he grinds Peets beans and does the pour over, etc. When it will be drunk with food he can use one less favored, i.e. my pods. There are many 'coffee snobs' on UTube who have so much info about ratio of water to ground beans, etc. I'm all for his coffee interest. Years ago he made chocolates and fillings and that caused weight gain!!!

Freeze your coffee beans: that way, the aromatic oils in the coffee bean stay fresh. I learnt when I took a barista class. The oils evaporate in both whole beans and ground coffee within an hour. I put my new-opened package in a thick plastic bag, close it with a clip, put it in the freezer (standing up) and take it out to measure my coffee. The beans don't freeze hard, but stay granulated. Easy to measure. Remember to close the bag immediately, and you have fresh coffee until the last grain and you can stop throwing away old coffee beans: 1 kg of beans uses 19.000 liters of water(!!!) before it ends up in your cup. Put the coffee ground in your garden. It contains many nutrients; the ground where the bushes grow need a lot of fertilizers after a harvest.

I’ve heard from many coffee roasters that say never put your coffee in the freezer. No matter what bag or container you use- the beans will be ruined through the absorption of other food odors from the freezer and the moisture ruins the beans’ oils .
@anna-lenameijer99423 жыл бұрын
@@mistermylo8607 Well, you can try to freeze once and see if I'm right. If I'm wrong, just drop me a line and I'll be happy to pay for your coffee. It's quite the opposite: Many say "Did you just open that coffee?" I usually use a 500 gr package /3 weeks,so the answer is no :). Because I freeze the coffee, I buy really nice qualities and brew a latte equal to the $7-latte downtown. I have 4 favorites, so I always find one on offer. I have frozen my coffee for 10 years now.

My favorite coffee is “Subtle Earth” organic. I grind 1/2 regular and 1/2 decaf (Swiss water process). I started using it because it was organic. TO my surprise my stomach issues went away- I had already quit drinking flavored coffee because they gave me heartburn. Imagine my surprise that the organic also elevated my stomach distress-and heart palpitations. I drink coffee in the morning mainly-having stopped drinking it ALL day because I needed a “pick-me-up” when I started using a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. I have reduced my coffee intake as I started the Daniel Fast-but I do love the warmth of it during the fall and winter-- Guess I need to get my herbal teas out!

@Leslie- be careful if you use the k-cups. They're not exactly good for our bodies because it has aluminum foil and plastic so the hot water goes through all of that and then passes along bad remnants of chemicals into our coffee, then when we consume that, it is bad for our health. There are some coffee pods that are made with sustainable ingredients, that are better for our health like the ones that are made from those cloth like coffee filter bag things. I don't know what that makes sense if I described it well enough for you. 🤷🏼♀️ But I've seen those for use in Keurigs and other coffee makers.
@ilovenoodles74833 жыл бұрын
@@TheBiblicalNutritionist How what do you suggest to make coffee without a coffee maker, without using instant coffee? Time putting coffee and a coffee filter and then tying up the coffee filter so it makes like a little pouch and then boiling water and pouring it over the coffee filter so that the coffee can drip down from it and that doesn't seem to work too well. I don't know if I'm supposed to maybe just let the diy coffee bag steep in the boiling water, like tea does?🤷🏼♀️ Can you make a short video of this or reply please? I tend to be a visual person, but I trust God that I can understand written word as well.

Coffee is described like wine, what they think of as the flavor goes across their tongue is how they describe it. I like coffee. I usually have some about an hour after I get up (so as not to interfere with my body's natural wake-up rhythm) and after I take my morning walk. After being diagnosed with Chronic T-Cell LGL Leukemia, I limit coffee to one or two cups a day if I have any at all. We live near a roastery but unfortunately they are not organic so I get an Organic brand at Whole Foods. I've been thinking about grinding my own. I do have a hand-cranked grinder so I might get some beans today. Thanks for your videos, I appreciate them so much. We buy green coffee beans and roast them ourselves. Fresh roasted coffee is so much tastier. Green coffee beans are stored like seeds and keep fresh much longer (years). Many supplier/distributors of imported green coffee beans. Many ways to roast small amounts, even a simple iron skillet will work. and many videos about it. Basically Roast, rest the beans a day to off gas, then use within a few days for best taste. BTW the darker the roast the LESS caffine is left in the bean. Approx. 1.2 -1.25lb green beans will make a pound of roasted coffee.

Has anyone tried "Dandelion Coffee"? When I was a kid n not allowed to drink coffee, I was allowed to drink "Postum". Made me feel 'grownup'. Don't remember what was in that, but thinking of checking it out again. Even saw a video abt. making coffee from raw, then 'dried' 'soup beans' [pintos??]

What about when the bean is growing inside the cherry? I thought the pesticides didn't get through the cherry.

Coffee is also a diuretic. However, coffee has to be organic because coffee is heavily spray with pesticides so organic is the way to go. And for me is a pleasure drink I can quit when I want to.

I didn't know USDA doesn't have to be totally organic. What else is there? One of the workers at Meijer's grocery store said only has to be 70% organic. Our Meijer's has been switching to Sunset and True Goodness ( I think is the name) for most of our Organic. I don't feel good about these 2 companies or the labels. Then when the produce comes from other countries, I assume it's by that country's health standards what they consider organic. I wish we had some small mom & pop grocery stores up here in Midland Mi. I will do more research to find some. I went to the local organic store but notice veges and fruits sitting a long time and look old and there is not much selection and I asked new owners some questions and they don't know much about the organic they sell yet because its still to new to them. We have farmers market that runs during the summer and I will buy some online. We had a local market that had closed down a couple years ago in Saginaw Mi because he said the health department wouldn't get off his back about every little mark on fruit and vegetables. He showed me the complaint on vege when they left and it was ridiculous. That market was fabulous! I am searching for a good organic coffee and will look for Chameleon Organic. I know this post is a year old but I thought maybe someone might see it. God Bless You!
