What Is The Best Drying Aid? Adams Slick and Slide vs Obsessed Garage Drying Aid

Slick and Slide is the least mentioned Adams product I've used and everybody seems to love OG Drying Aid. We will go over the pros and cons of each a final verdict from me.

Somehow, I was always under the impression that Slick & Slide was Adam's own take on Beadmaker, literally, but I couldn't understand why they didn't recommend it as a drying aid like Beadmaker is famously used as. Thanks for clearing things up.

Hello fellow Hex member, great informative video and thanks for sharing! I ordered the OG Drying Aid as soon as it became available but I haven't used it yet. I realized I had way too much Beadmaker and also had way too much Griot's bulk on the shelf that I haven't used up yet. So needless to say I've been a mad man this season using subpar products to blow through. One thing I can tell you is I really really miss how slick BM was when I used it regularly. Having multiple cars helps with playing with other products so I can say Dream Maker on top of Bead Maker is freaking amazing and did this prior to a OG meetup earlier this year and had stunning results!

I've never tried that BM and DM combo. I do hear good things. I think you'll enjoy OG drying aid. It's slick and much easier to apply than beadmaker. I appreciate you watching.

I thought Pan was saying that Xtreme Solutions Topper and OG Drying Aid were the same product, minus the color/scent (see his latest drying aid comparison video). Are all three of these products the same?

Yes that’s right. Slip Stream is the product that all of these are. These blending companies make a product and then change up things like smell or color for different brands.

Would be interesting to know if Technician's Choice 582 Ceramic Detail Spray is the same thing then too. Same exact color as slick and slide. Similar smell too. Ive used it and had a similar experience

Just subscribed. Thanks for info. I just bought a classic truck with nice metalic paint. Was thinking of using p&s absolute waterless product to clean since I mainly take it for cruising on the weekends. Would any of these products help with using along with P&s waterless? Would like to hear your feedback.

How long does the og drying aid last if I just use it standalone, without a base ceramic coating?

Really just a couple weeks till the next wash but it does help repel the dirt. It’s great stand alone

As long as you are using good drying techniques and a clean quality microfiber towel there is no need to use “drying aids”. Honestly it doesn’t make sense to spray a liquid on a surface that you are drying to dry on top of the fact that you end up having to do more rubbing in order to remove the product and dry the surface. Even this obsessed garage product is just a rebranded detail spray.

I think it definitely leaves the surface slick and a layer of protection between washes. I absolutely love using it. It’s so satisfying for me. Thanks for watching!

Doing a blind test and taking away the smell, do you think you could actually tell a difference in performance of both of those as a drying aid? Can you tell a noticeable difference between detail spray and slick and slide as a drying aid?

Blind test with no smell the answer is no. You wouldn’t be able to tell. They are exactly the same to apply and the exact result. Do I notice a difference from the detail spray? 1000% yes. It’s not the same at all. This leaves it so slick and adds that sacrificial layer of protection. I rarely touch my detail spray. Now I wouldn’t use this between washes. It doesn’t work well for that.

Yes. I saw that. I think that’s so that they don’t have the 2 products competing agains t each other. Slick and Slide is 100% a drying aid and it’s amazing.
