What Is The Best Farming Spot~Dragon Quest III Remake

I vaguely thought about the hydras exp and seeing the LMS en masse passing thru here as being nice when I first saw it. Didnt dawn on me to use this a farm spot, especially since you can't service call here... but the wellspring to recover is a quick two screens away, so thank you for this. That grind for leveling up is much faster here.

In the Tower above Alltrades Abbey, you'll sometimes get into fights w a bunch of Metal Slimes and a Dragon enemy. You can use Hypnowhip or the item that Confuses enemies on it & it will sometimes breathe fire, killing ALL the Metals on screen instantly!

If not playing in Dracky Mode, then for the 3X King Hydras you definitely want to equip a Banishing Bell, Asbestos Ring and any Armor you have that reduces Breath damage, & having the Hero use Omniheal as needed. Also, I'm not sure if Banishing Bells stack aka increase in effectiveness when equipping two, but may be worth trying to stave off the incessant status effects. Should make the fight a cakewalk. Use moves that attack all 3 foes at once. Also can't recall but if they have an elemental weakness, exploit it! They may be weak to Ice, I'll have to confirm when I get back there. If so, use Kacrack every turn!

Hey man, I absolutely love your content! This is my first time with DQ3 and I’ve only ever played DQ11 before. I have a bit of a complicated question and I can’t find an answer anywhere. Maybe you can help? If I change personalities, does it affect my base stats for that job? For example, if I’m a thief, but then equip an item that gives me “genius” personality, I know my wisdom will increase quickly, but will my agility also increase at the normal rate a thief’s would? Or is that nullified by the personality change? Does this make sense? Any insight? Thank you 😎

If you ever played Pokemon then Personalities are like Natures. Unlike Pokemon however the stats do not reflect a Personality change right away. You only notice the change after a level up as that's when you see the change in stat growths. Thief has a base stat and the Personality modifies how much of x stat you'll get. Genius wouldn't lower your speed but you won't get as much per level since it only increases Agility by 20%

The only thing that can make Acceleratle tricky when using Poof is that the Dragon has a separate Agility stat from your actual character, so using Acceleratle on your character prior to it transforming into a Dragon won't help... It only helps if it lands AFTER the transformation!

If you're already @ Baramos' Lair, then you may want to wait just a bit longer til you get to Alefgard before grinding, as it has arguably THE best place to grind in the game! Aka an island where you can fight EIGHT Liquid Metals at a time!! The only other place better than that is in the secret Post Game dungeon when you get into random fights w 3 King Hydras. Can win around 70k experience from that fight!

You can do that too Skins. I have made and leveled 17 different PALS and I am constantly leveling at different parts in the game. This is a very efficient Farming spot when I made completely new units and needed them to catch up in levels!

@@mappybc6097 It can be expensive if you use it every battle. I tend to only use it for Slimes or high defense enemies. You can put on a Mad Cap that'll bring down the cost to 48MP

I think insta kill abilities might have a higher success rate than the Poison Needle. Assassin Stab for instance seems to proc quite often, moreso than the 12.5% stat would suggest.

For me the way I did things was to grind at the tower of transcendence north of all trades abbey in the early game to get a sage and change classes to get the abilities and after I got to the underworld I grinded for liquid metal slimes at the tower of rubiss on the second floor because the monsters there dish out a guaranteed 1-2k exp even without metal enemies and post game I'm currently grinding where you are in the first post game dungeon with the king hydras since they don't run away like the liquid metal slimes and so far I'm getting a lot of exp from doing this

That's because the Boomerang you're using is probably imbued with an Element. Consider just using a Boomerang or Edged Boomerang as they all do one damage

It may not give any more Experience but Draconian gives less Experience so that's why I said that. I remember in my testing I fought a same group on Draconian and got 1245 EXP and then on Dracky I got 1779 EXP.

I saw a guy on youtube maul the 3 hydras with one guy doing hypnowhip and persecutter, but I have TWO level 50 thieves and can't replicate it. For some reason his hypnowhip always worked and he could keep them asleep. I have no idea how he did it.

That is just luck, also, hypnowhip confuses enemies, doesn't put them to sleep. I found Fuddle has better chances at confusing the King Hydras than anything else. If you have your Sage with the Duplic Hat and in Wild Sense mode, you'll cast 4 Fuddles.

@@Naztalgic_Memories They are susceptible, but it is not guaranteed. Hypnowhip seems to have a lower chance to hit than Fuddle, but it is also group whide, while Fuddle is Single target. The issue is always a fight with 3 King Hydras, since you cant target a specific one, you will rely on luck to deal with all them. Persecutter also hits twice if the user uses a Falcon Blade, so you can go for the quad x6 hit if you want to go for it.

@@Gameshunter92 Is the game smart programmed to swap after a target is confused? Since I am using Duplic Hat can Fuddle land on the same target even though it's already confused or will it swap to another one in the group not confused? I plan on it since that sounds very resource efficient!

Im punching the MF air right now. I've just got to that floor and my first fight was 3 king hydras. I had to run because they were hard as hell to beat. I can handle one of them and have been fighting the single King Hydras w fodder enemies. Taking W's when I can, but it never occured to me to change the damn difficulty and snag the free XP...

You know this guy is funny. And well after 15 minutes, he only could give you the 2nd best spot to farm. 80k 3 hydras.... Meh thats so 2005. You can fight the hands that call for help and get 120k a battle. Sorry these mobs and its location are the best to farm in the game.

The video is time stamped for a reason. I don't expect anyone to watch all 15 minutes. I am unaware of this farming spot. Would you like to share where it's at? I did say they were the best farming spots I used. This is my first time playing this game as well as any Dragon Quest game so I am only sharing what I learned. Perhaps in the future start off by asking questions instead of just assuming. It'll improve your communication skills a lot 👍

@Naztalgic_Memories the muddy hands by caitlin do. It's not so much them but the call for help rock golmens they summon. Those give high exp, can be killed in 1 to 2 hits and you can fight for 5 to 20 minutes as they keep calling for help.

@@sagepirotess6312 After running this for 20 minutes, this is not more efficient than what I was using and here's why: I had two Skeletons and two hands spawn. I killed the two Skeletons and the hands spawned the Statues. I kill one Statue and the hand spawned another. I went all out and killed all enemies giving me 4639 Experience in 43 seconds. Meanwhile I went and killed on King Hydra and filler that spawned with it and got 27645 Experience in 38 seconds. As you can see I got more experience in the same time. Just because you can "infinitely" farm Statues from the hand doesn't mean it's more efficient time wise. That was the whole point of my video. It's the amount of experience you get per time that makes these spots good. Just cause you can sit there and kill statues for an hour and take a screen shot with 300k+ Experience doesn't mean it's better if I could have gotten 6x that in the same time.

The hands method is far to slow. I spent 20 minutes and with everything speed up and maxed out, I didn't even break 20k. I left that spot, fought 2 liquid metal slimes and got 20k in 5 minutes. Grant it, that's rare since they run away but it still beats the slow repetitive grind of the hands that just don't give you enough. Not to mention, you have to make sure you don't kill off all the hands so you need to defend a few times to let them reproduce, of course I'm assuming a party of 4.
