I don’t agree with the analysis. Basically you chose the 10 companies with the highest growth in the past and then you’re surprised that those 10 companies grew the most. What you should have done is for each category choose 10 companies that satisfied the conditions of the category back then and see how they fared until now. Maybe those growth stocks weren’t growth stocks 10 years ago.

The SP500 still wins because we have absolutely no idea what companies will be successful in 10 years

I like the idea of combing a quality company (clean balance sheet) with growth included. Example: ISRG Intuitive surgical. Excellent presentation video. Thank you, as it confirms my own basic strategy for stock selection.

So it seems. 😊 Or at least that’s the way I see it. But I am old and probably to conservative. 😉

My apologies for sounding critical but this comes probably under hindsight bias or confirmation bias. Basically what you are doing is that you are taking a successful outcome, and based on that you are making a judgement that this particular approach works well. The problem is that we don't know which companies will be successful in ten years from today. Growth stocks such as Alphabet are considered so because they have performed extremely well so far and we get real juicy returns if we enter very early (not many people knew about Nvidia until about one or two years ago). We just don't know what those growth stocks will be ten years from today.

You are right. I also see it that way. That is why I said in the video that we don’t know if those companies will perform so well in the future and that finding such companies is extremely hard. But I understand that it is not clear in the video. So thank you for the feedback.

Hi from Spain. Nice video, as always. As you said, it is not academical, but it gives a good insight on each strategy. The only “but”, is that you choose the 10 companies from today’s results. For dividend and strong balance sheet companies, coud you choose them with the same criterias, but as they were 10 years ago? Maybe you would have chosen diferent companies. Thanks a lot for your videos
@BaldInvestor2 ай бұрын
Thank you. You are of course right, but I would have to create an entirely new ranking. Maybe I will revisit this video in 10 years 😉 That could be interesting.

…. So we pick our investments based on survivorship bias? (…. There’s a great diagram of a World War II bomber where they came to the conclusion that they needed less armour on the engines) Pretty sure that Wirecard and Theranos were growth companies during that period.

Hello, (I'm using Google Translate) I've been following this channel for a long time. This must be the first video I didn't like. How many companies are part of your stock ranking? Why stock A and not B? There should have been another type of approach if the idea of the video was to demonstrate the best investment strategy, whether dividends, quality or rapid growth. So the idea is that the purpose of the video was to promote its stock ranking tool. It seems to me that the channel is losing its initial essence.... It's starting to look like a commercial channel.... (which is right to do so) Just my opinion, for what it's worth
