In my opinion, I think star rush is criminally underrated - so much from it has inspired other mario party titles! Super Mario Party had boards with freedom to move with partner party, allies and rhythm games Mario Party Jamboree also has the Koopathlon, inspired by Star Rush’s coinathlon They may have been a lack of mini games but there were game mods galore!

I think we are putting Superstars way too low. Yes the gamecube and n64 games are amazing and my personal favorite is 6, but even 6 is not close to superstars in terms of polish and modern features. Simply the minigame preview screen requiring each player to ready up wins superstars for me. Really hoping Jamboree is as good as everyone claims!

some of the interesting facts about some of the Parties: 1. party 5 you can deff clearly see how its basically a beta for party 6 w/da capsule/orb system, refined up through 7's supah unique special char orbs 2. surprisingly parties 7 and 8 both reuse a board gimmick da previous had. 7 reuses 6's Chain Chomp Snowflake lake gimmick, 8 reuses 7's Koopa Hotel Gimmick, which kinda interesting despite how different da board layouts are. 3. for party 1, tug-o-war, which's probably the absolute worst minigame in the series, as its literally unwinnable w/o palm method(aka thumb method) even vs easy cpus, next to da solo minigame pedal power, which's also unwinnable for da same reason. them bringing tug-o-war back twice(top 100+Superstars) is pretty surprising but most are prob glad its gone in Jamboree. legit the best way to play tug o war is just to not play it. 4. in addition, Party 1's other stick rotators, Cast-aways and Paddle battle are actually winnable if usin da thumb method, its really easy to win those w/thumb method no problem, palm isn't needed at all for those two. I dunno why Pedal Power+tug o war are impossible w/thumb, but Paddle Battle and Cast aways are. may haveta do with how the stick specifically functions in each of those 🤔 1 thing I do know is its specifically cuz of Pedal Power+tug o war that da minigame island in party 1 is and can be literally impossible to win, which's kinda insane. 5. Jamboree's Mario Rainbow Castle's Item Shop at da beginning is, surprisingly, something that an amazing fan-game called "party project" did first, in a similar way in placement my overall faves would deff have to be 1,2&3(3 has amazing board music just like 1-2. 2's got dem iconic costumes. party 1's brutalness is deff pretty famous), Superstars for da hd versions and fixed boards+amazing ost 4(cuz of toad's midway madness's beautiful music despite the reality of how bad da board is cuz teacups), DS, 6/7 due to da orb mechanic dat were refined from 5, granted 5's boards are pretty nice w/their happening mechanics. I think I just like alla da Mario parties from 1-8+DS+Superstars, they're all alotta fun and da unique mechanics of each are really neat to look at when going through them I deff think Jamboree's lookin to be a new fave due to the unique boards like Rainbow Galleria+da Fixing of Mario's Rainbow Castle from 1

I wish I could rank all of the Mario Party series, but… I’ve never played as far back as all of them, unfortunately. 😅 And by that, I mean Mario Parties 1 through 10. I can, though, rank the ones I have played, though. 7. Mario Party: Island Tour Now don’t get me wrong… I did enjoy this game, and in some ways, I do feel like it’s underrated at times. I enjoyed all of its boards and minigames. But something that really brought it down for me was that… it really had no story mode, which stopped it from having much flow to playing the boards. While it did have the Bowser Tower mode, it felt a bit more like a minigame gauntlet than an actual story. And also speaking of minigames, it had done away with the traditional genres of minigames (4-Player, 1-vs-3, 2-vs-2, Battle, Duel), which really made the minigames somewhat lack variety. One high point of this game I did enjoy, though, was that it had boards where getting the most Stars was NOT the way to win (except for one board). It led to some pretty creative ways and gimmicks of playing on the boards, which I really enjoyed. But… just like many others… I do favour the traditional way of playing even more. 6. Mario Party: The Top 100 I was amazed when they decided to do this. The thought alone of having 100 minigames, let alone having 100 classic minigames really enticed me since I never actually played any of them before but watched and wanted to try. Personally, though, I would actually prefer this game’s lineup of 100 minigames compared to those in Superstars because there were quite a few in there that I enjoyed which did not return in Superstars (ex. Balloon Busters, Hide & Go BOOM! And before anyone asks, yes, I know the ones I listed here are luck-based ones, but I like their theming and intensity.) However, outside of the minigames themselves, what really brings it down is that, I felt there really wasn’t much else to the game, aside from Minigame Island (While I liked its board game mode though, Minigame Match, the gameplay just felt like it dragged on at times, something that I feel Superstars would rectify later on.) 5. Mario Party: Star Rush Star Rush really got inventive with its gameplay, where they found a way to make it so that it was always everyone’s turn on the boards. I’m also pretty sure that this is where the concept of an ally system was first introduced, too. I’ll admit, I wasn’t too fond of the main mode Toad Scramble at first, considering the fact you had to play as Toad, but the more I played it, the more it grew on me, and I think it ended up actually working really well. I like how you have to battle bosses for the Stars - it really gave a sense of adventure every time. Coinathlon was also another mode that I really enjoyed when I wasn’t playing on the boards, and other modes such as Balloon Bash and Challenge Tower also really helped to keep things exciting. One thing that could have been improved, though, is that it had too few minigames, in my opinion. 53 is just not enough. 4. Super Mario Party Super Mario Party really did its best to feel like a hopeful return to the traditional way of playing Mario Party after being absent for so long, and to me, I think it did. After all, you have to remember that this was the first Mario Party for the Nintendo Switch, so it was still experimenting with its capabilities, including the Joy-Cons - it was doing its best at the time before Superstars and Jamboree were even a thing. Now granted, it probably shouldn’t have been the only method of playing, but I don’t even have any other controllers besides Joy-Cons, so it never really bothered me. One thing I will say, though, that may be in contrast to what others think, is that… I actually really liked the ally system. It felt great to put together your own team of players all working together to help you win, and… dare I say it… it’s what I would do all the time. Maybe it was brought down by the fact that it only had 4 boards… but I’d rather not let it get the best of my opinion. Super Mario Party also introduced some really fun brand new modes such as Sound Stage and River Survival, which also led to new genres of minigames, namely, Rhythm, Co-op, and my favourite, Team Minigames. It’s not the best of what I played, but it’s certainly not the worst, either. So my placing for it is right here… in the middle. 3. Mario Party Superstars After Mario Party: The Top 100 brought back 100 classic minigames, I didn’t think we’d ever seen anything like it again (and I’m pretty sure many of us didn’t either). But how we were wrong! In fact, a part of me had wondered what it would’ve been like if The Top 100 did a take two on the Switch. And yet, here it was! But only did it once again bring back 100 classic minigames - it also brought back 5 classic boards, none of which I played before. Improving on The Top 100 in many ways, this really felt like a much more improved nostalgic trip, even going as so far to return to the original Mushroom Village where it all started. I also think that the spread of minigames was improved greatly (ex. having a few coin minigames thrown in, which The Top 100 did not have). Though once again, I will say that I do still somewhat prefer the list of minigames from The Top 100 over Superstars, but that’s just me. Overall, Superstars is clearly the Mario Party one could ever ask for if they wanted only the classic boards and minigames of the past combined in the perfect blend. 2. Mario Party DS This was my very first Mario Party ever and how I got my start into playing this series in the first place. I remember playing this one… A LOT. (Maybe even too much…) I’m pretty sure this was also the last game that used the traditional way of playing just before it was phased out for a while. So YES, to everyone who had any doubts, I did know enough about the traditional style of playing Mario Party back then. I especially loved how it also had a Story Mode, and I’m glad that most Mario Parties had a Story Mode in the past. Which is sort of why I was a bit upset when it got mostly phased out after 9. I am kind of glad that Super Mario Party and Super Mario Party Jamboree both brought back some sort of story, even if it’s not a full-blown story mode. But, this Mario Party will always have a special place in my heart. Always. 1. Super Mario Party Jamboree! (I hope!) As it is right now, I’ve barely begin to scratch the surface of playing the game, and yet, there is still so much more to discover and enjoy here. That feeling you get where think you’ve discovered everything, only to realize you did not, so you always keep coming back for more. I think that’s a really good feeling to have. It really does bring out the best of all Mario Parties of the past - I can see them all. And yet somehow, it still manages to introduce and work in its own newer ways of playing not seen in other Mario Parties. And even once you truly have discovered everything, with so many ways to play, it has potential for high replayability, which is something I seriously consider to be important. I also can’t help but like Impostor Bowser… it just goes to show how important Bowser . Bowser gets his dream of trying to become the Superstar once again since Super Mario Party… yet we still have the antagonistic Bowser of the past - the best of both worlds, if you ask me. Here’s to high hopes that this Mario Party will be the best one! This Jamboree really feels like it has it all!

8:51 I would like to argue that strategy is still majorly present in Mario Party 9, all it is is it's just reworked. The strategy turns to something more of the idea of making sure you get good stuff on your turn, but also trying to stick the next captain with bad stuff, like a clump of Mini Ztars.

Here's my personal tier list: SS: 6 S: 3, 7, 2 A: Jamboree, Superstars, DS B: 8, 5 C: SMP, Star Rush, 4, 1 D: 9, 10, Island Tour, The Top 100 F: E-Reader, Advance I really wanted Jamboree to be in SS tier but it's not even remotely close to the level of quality 6 has. At most, it would be in low S tier if the pacing was much faster, there were more minigames in party mode, and the economy was less broken. 6, 3, 7, and 2 are the pinnacle of Mario Party games with 6 being the pinnacle of the pinnacle.

Hey just a lil tip! You should add a low-pass filter to ur voice to remove the deepest bass and ‘muddiness’ from the vocal tracks It will make your voice more clear and allow music and background sounds to fit better with the entire video / mix Cause watching on my tv with big speakers, and theres alot of bass in that voice ahah (You can do this with most EQualizers)

Played Jamboree a bit today and feel the mini games are a bit half arsed compared to Super Party and Superstars. So many games are just press a button and guess. Also lot of the side mode stuff can’t be 2 players offline.

I’ve not played every Mario Party but this is my personal ranking Mario Party 5 Mario Party Superstars Mario Party 1 Mario Party Jamboree Mario Party 4 Super Mario Party I’ve dabbled with Mario Party 2 and 3 but I’ve not played enough of them to include them in my rankings. Honestly I love all of the games I’ve played, yes even SMP after the Online update it got at the end. Had quite a bit of fun with my friends on it

So we agree on nearly all the top. For me : - 10 years dark age between Mario Party 9 and Super Mario Party. - Great revival since Mario Party Superstars. Jamboree is a great Mario Party but not the best. - Mario Party 1 might not be the best, but haves some great mechanics never reused in other issues. (Mushoom spaces, we can steal coins to other players in several minigames, etc...) - Mario Party 3 as the best N64 Mario Party if i'm objective, despite the fact that I'm not a big fan of the Paper Mario general aesthetics. And the 2 just behind. - Personnaly Mario Party 6 isn't my favorite, but maybe it is because I was at the time a grumpy teenager nostalgic of the previous Nintendo consoles. I should give it another try today.

I don’t think I have ever agreed with a KZbin list vid as much as I did here. Minus flipping 3 and 6 this is my exact list. Love the defending of 1 and 4. Both titles have their flaws, sure, I think players are way too hard on those titles. Also agreed with what you said about the Switch titles (I haven’t played Jamboree yet). Superstars should’ve been the best title ever but the lack of content and the broken coin economy keeps it from the elite. Great list!

My top 4 mp games .... Mario party 3 (my first mp game) lot of good times with my brothers, cousins and neighbors. Top 2 Mario party 6 Top 3 Mario party 7 Top 4 Mario party 8.. Sadly those times doesn't come back.. i am the one who keeps playing those games.

Mario Party Jamboree as the number-4 best Mario Party when going up against the likes of the classics (and 6) is impressive for the guys who made 9 and 10.

I do agree with the top 4. Mario party 6 is still the best and pretty much peak mario party followed by 2 and 3 which are still top 3 imo. And I think for most people mario party 2,3 and 6 are in the top 3. MP4 is lower on the list for me but overall a solid list. Im still happy with Jamboree even though it didnt surpass 2,3 and 6 and it has some flaws but its still pretty damm close and definitely in the top 5 at least.

3:59 My problem with Mario Party Island Tour is the boards are too short(and there's one that you can only play with other humans), and Bowser's Tower isn't good either

As much as I enjoy the added features and characters and great boards of subsequent games, the original Mario Party will always be the best imo. I liked the random dice blocks from the shop, the challenging nature of it like actually losing coins when you lose mini-games, etc. and also the sometimes hilarious expressions the characters had when they are forced to purchase some wonky gimmick from Bowser like in Luigi’s Engine Room. To me, the original is the gold standard.

S Tier: 2, 3, 6 A: 7, Superstars B: 4, 5 C: 1, 8, DS, Super D: Advance F: 10 Haven't played: 9, Top 100, Island Tour, Star Rush, E-reader (but judging by what I've seen of these, they all sound like F-tier except for maybe Star Rush) Jamboree is still too fresh to rank, but so far it seems like an A or maybe even S tier game.

I haven’t played the 3DS gages or advance but if this was my personal list I would slap MP4 at the very bottom. On most of these boards you can’t even reach the stars and collecting stars is literally the entire point of Mario party. Getting bad luck and randomness is all part of the Mario Party spirit but MP4 takes it so far to the point it’s not even fun it’s just frustrating.

Thx for ur review i think it’s pretty fair i woudl probably swap a few around. I will say i think jamboree is rated to high in alot of ways the other mario parties esp the gamecube ones have way more varied and fun minigames and are more wacky and willing to try things to innovate! Mario party jamboree feels way too safe. I would put it where u put super stars and put super stars 1 spot or 2 spots above it. Ithink superstars is still the best one on the switch yes it’s all old minigames but they are so much more varied and better to play. They should have just done superstars dlc and added the modes and bring some new and old boards over

MARIO PARTY E LACKING CHAOS ? Have we played the same game?? It's one of the funniest board game I've ever played, and I played a lot of them. Easy to learn, infinitely replayable, and completely encapsulate the MP spirit of constantly destroying your friends, making strategies just to loose every thing in a huge plot twist. I printed my own cards and play the minigames on 3DS (Rock Paper Scissors works too) and it honestly might be one of the best MP games, it may not be a great videogame, but it's an amazing card game and that's what it tries to do

In my opinion mario party 4 is the greatest of all time. I have played that game since release and still have lots of fun with it. The reason why its better than the other mario partys because its the only one that I didnt get bored after completing the game. I really enjoy this new jamboree because It brings the best features from mario party games.

Personally I would put Mario Party 3 at #1 as I firmly believe it has the best gameplay mechanics in the series. Also, props for not putting Mario Party Advance in dead last and calling it a bad Mario Party game like everyone else, the game is really fun if you don't treat it as a mainline Mario Party game.

Superstar is incredibly overrated. It features old boards and minigames, but with better graphics and much much worse presentation, balance, and design. Do you remember how much fun it was to enter Chance Time or a battle? The music and whistles added so much to the experience. Now, it’s just a dialogue between characters. Additionally, now you can earn like 9999 coins simply by landing on a treble space. The minigames don’t even matter anymore. Furthermore, 100% of the boards come from Mario Party 1-3, and 60% of the minigames do as well. But in a Switch you can access ALL the minigames and boards from Mario Party 1-3 with the Switch Online Service. I can’t believe you rated it higher than Mario Party 5. I’m sooOoo angry >:C P.S. at least you put the best mario party as number 1. :D

I’m sorry but MP4 absolutely sucks. The boards are completely unplayable. You are constantly trapped in infinite loops which are made worse by happening spaces that move you across the board. The cherry on top is that you are disincentivized from using double and triple dice since you can’t go to the shop or collect the star if you’re mega. I literally did a 20 turn game on Koopa’s seaside soiree with my friend and no one got a star. I respect everyone’s opinion but I don’t understand why people rank this game so high because MP4 goes against what Mario party is all about.

I think Mario Party is my favourite series of all time, i've put hundreds of hours into each one and this list is perfection - although I tend to switch 6 and 3 around as the best all the time lol - nevermind, 4 being that high is war crimes, the mega and mini mushroom totally killed that game

7:42 I think MP 9 is OK, problem was most of the boards are bland, one is too short(only the last two boards are good, and even then, in the last one, the Midway boss and the final one are luck-based) EDIT: I forgot the weak punishments(even the "lose half of your mini-stars", cause you normally gonna have 60-70 of those)

Think this list is too tainted by public perception. You'll say you really like 1 of the MPs on the end of the list, then you get to Super and speak mostly negatively about it, then MP Advance comes up and you really love it despite it being like 13th on the list, so on so forth. If you really love it, put it higher. Otherwise, you probably just like it.
