I have a blackstar fly, and honestly can’t recommend it enough. The tone is absolutely fantastic and honestly very hard to replicate or beat. It’s very versatile and always sounds great with pretty much anything you try to throw at it. The only downside is that it doesn’t really do high-gain overdrive very well (the crunch channel is good, but is best described as mid-gain and isn’t really as suitable for 80’s overdrive metal-style leads if that’s your thing). But if you like cleaner sounds and a more clear mid-gain crunch channel, the fly is absolutely perfect.

The Blackstar sounded pretty darned good for being truly mini. The Marshall's tone left something to be desired... then it left something to be desired. ...it even broke up on the clean setting, so no thanks. I'm an old guy and retired musician here comparing some mini amps for noodling around the house. Have you guys checked out the Vox mini 3 GO, or the Donner Cyclops? Those are the two I'm leaning towards, both with amp modeling and rudimentary drum tracks. The Donner is under a hundred bucks, and the Vox 150USD.

The Blackstar wins here. As an electro-acoustic player I'd like to compare the acoustic & bass versions before buying. The Marshall is horrible but that one sound of utter filth has a certain gruesome appeal. For a little more money there is the MS-4, which does a passable clean sound.
