The Pros and Cons of PLS SEM and Covariance based SEM
If you are interested in learning online course on SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) with Amos. Please, check the following link myeasystatisti... this course covers 15 captivating topics! Enjoy lifetime access to the course videos, practice materials, and you can Elevate your statistical skills to high levels.
Structural equation modeling (SEM) is a powerful statistical technique for analyzing complex relationships among variables. However, there are two main approaches to SEM: covariance-based SEM (CB-SEM) and partial least squares SEM (PLS-SEM).
In this video, we will discuss the pros and cons of each approach. We will cover topics such as:
• The different assumptions made by CB-SEM and PLS-SEM
• The sample size requirements for each approach
• The ability to handle missing data
• The ability to test complex models
• The ability to predict latent variables
We will also discuss when to use CB-SEM and when to use PLS-SEM.
By the end of this video, you will have a clear understanding of the pros and cons of CB-SEM and PLS-SEM. You will be able to choose the right approach for your research project.
• CB-SEM is more rigorous than PLS-SEM, but it also has more stringent assumptions.
• PLS-SEM is less rigorous than CB-SEM, but it is more flexible and can be used with smaller sample sizes.
• CB-SEM is better for testing causal relationships, while PLS-SEM is better for predicting latent variables.
• CB-SEM is more widely used in the social sciences, while PLS-SEM is more widely used in the business and engineering fields.
