What is the Best Treatment for Hemosiderin Staining

Dr. Michael Ryan addresses a concern many people have about the presence of brown skin staining on the legs. I have hemosiderin staining on my face from too much filler in my jowls. I have gotten the filler dissolved but it still looks like a bruise. How would you suggest I treat this? Thank you

I have this on my ankles and lower legs. Left leg is the worst. Been to doctor and got steroid cream. I’m concerned as it just gets worse.

Do you have any experience with picosecond/nanosecond QS lasers in treating staining? Something in the 600 to 700 nm range? I appear to have hemosiderin staining, under one eye, from a severe hematoma.

​@@Grisonian The discolouration I developed was probably a combination of hemosiderin, melanin and vascular malformations -- this makes it a bit difficult to say. By 10 or 11 months, the pigmentary component had pretty much subsided without intervention. I used no creams or lasers due to the location (beneath my eye). Patience and time do seem to help, but I understand this is difficult.

*FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH: WM 58YO 320 POUND TYPE 2, WHO SUFFERED FROM VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY* and lower red leg hemosiderin staining for the last three years. I also suffered high blood pressure and took 2 different medications to control it. I Changed diet/lifestyle in feb 2023 and switched to first a keto diet and then a "ketovore" diet two weeks later. By April I was doing a Ketovore OMAD diet. By June I extended my fasting where I ate one high fat meal every other day and on my days I didn't eat I drank two cups of "loaded coffee" (coffee with butter and MCT oil added). Not only have I cured my type 2 diabetes but I'm off both blood pressure meds, I've lost 70 pounds, my gray hair turned back to its natural color and so far half of the redness on my lower legs has faded away. I have no doubt in my mind that it will be completely gone in six more months. Will this diet work for you? I firmly believe it will but you have to make a serious commitment to your diet and not stray or cheat on it. If you are on the fence and can't decide just commit to a 30 day challenge. I will promise you if you will try the "ketovore diet" for 30 days, (with fasting if possible but not required), you will feel so much better you will want to continue. I personally am healthier and feel better than I had for the last 20 years. After 30 days if you don't feel better you haven't lost a thing so there's no reason why you shouldn't accept the 30 day challenge. He is NOT a "snake oil salesman" trying to sell you weight loss products, he informs you how to heal your body through eating the proper foods your body can absorb without inflammation.

@@monaonassis6346 I weight 183 pounds now, almost half the weight I was. The red skin color on my legs isn't back to perfect yet but I estimate 80-90% of the color has faded. Maybe TMI for some but people who eat the proper foods their flatulence isn't odorific, nor is their excrement and it is a lot smaller than a similar movement on a standard American diet. And very little paper is needed afterwards.

On beef and water carnivore diet and saw a dramatic improvement in 30 days. I also think it will recover back to normal, maybe 6-12 months?
