What is the Bible Fellowship Church?

Thank you so much for featuring our denomination on your channel! You did a great job with your research and presentation. Just one minor clarifications: Around the 6 minute mark you quote from a Bible Fellowship Church website in Texas. That church is not a part of our denomination. (Like you said, there are a lot of independent churches that use the name who are not connected.) You quote from them about Limited Atonement. There are some in our denomination who hold to Limited Atonement and others do not. Some say it is implied in our Articles of Faith and others say it is purposefully not spelled out. Otherwise, well done! Thank you so much for featuring us! We are small, but we are faithful to glorify God, worship Him together, and spread the gospel and plant new churches! If anyone has any questions, I'd be glad to answer them for you!

I go to an OPC church in a very BFC heavy area. We have an interesting relationship with each other. We tend to have people jump between the two or attend each other's events and programs. From what I am told it has also led to some interesting debates in the BFC about whether to require rebaptism for membership. My brother's father in law is a BFC pastor and their family had left an Evangelical Reformed Church to attend the BFC. Appreciate the video. I was a bit delighted to see such a local subject that has a soft spot in my heart makes it's way onto your channel.

Great videos, Joshua! I’ve learned a ton and I try to watch all of them. I was happy that you mentioned the small denomination of which I am a member, The Missionary Church. Bethel University in Mishawaka, Indiana is our college. One note- the Canada Missionary churches broke away in the late 80’s for legal reasons only- no doctrinal differences.

A few points of clarification and fun facts 1) The source for the Limited Atonement section is not from a church in the BFC. It is a position we hold though, and I believe it is articulated in Article 11 in the Articles of Faith. 2) There is a BFC in Mexico. There is also one church in New Mexico and another one in Florida. Other than that, the rest of the churches are in PA, NJ, DE, MD, and NY. 3) Due to the spirited and lively worship style of these Mennonites who were voted out, they were called the "Jumping Mennonites". 4) One of the key junctures of why the BFC went in a Reformed direction was the fairly new seminary that many pastors studied at: Westminster Seminary. 5) Until about almost 50 years ago at BFC conferences, pastors would have to pack their belongings to be ready to be sent to a new location right after the conference.

I have to say, the initialism "BFC" is weird to hear about an Anabaptist denomination, as MC Canada has our Becoming a more Faithful Church process (most famously, BFC7)

Good question! We do not take a stand on dispensationalism. Some of the pastors are and some are not. We really have a mix of those who hold to Dispensational Premil and others who are Historic Premillennial. Let us know if you have more questions!

Up to 20%, depending on type of wine. There's a reason drinking undiluted wine was considered barbaric by the Greeks.

@@robertguidry2168The vast majority is Amil, but there are pockets of historical premil, like Spurgeon, and Postmil, Durbin and White. If you reference LBCF chapter 31, seems pretty Amil to me.

Regarding eschatology, the Bible Fellowship Church is premillennial, but we do not take a stand on dispensationalism. Some of our members hold to Dispensational Premillennialism and others hold to a Historic or Classic view. Let us know if you have other questions!

Read reformed confessions (WCF, LBCF…) Calvinists agree that you do need a conversion experience, when the sinner repents and believes in Christ.

No one needs to recite a sinners prayer to be saved. One needs to believe and proclaim Christ.

@@RonJohn63 God draws effectually the sinner to himself. The Holy Spirit opens his eyes to see his sin and need for a Savior. The sinner hears the Gospel and repents and believes, the Spirit regenerates him to new spiritual life and is converted.
