Thank you Dr. Brown! I’m one of the ones that thought I had committed this sin and was destined for hell. Thanks to people like you I received the true context of the scripture and I recognized the trick that Satan was trying to pull on me in order to short circuit my faith. This is an agonizing sin to think you are guilty of.

Jesus christ was manifesting the works of God....he was casting out devils and healing the sick and discerning the very secrets and thoughts and intents of the hearts of the people.....and the clergy or priests were speaking of the works of God and claiming it was of the devil... So jesus christ was basically saying when the holy ghost comes and does the works of God in the born again believers....it won't be forgiven.... So when you see a born again believer manifesting the works of God by the holy ghost....don't say or think evil against it....that's what many people did when they saw the works of God manifested in the ministry of William branham and a.a allen and f f Bosworth and jack coe....and a few others That is the blashemy of the holy ghost....speaking or thinking evil against the born again believers manifesting the works of God by the holy Spirit just like jesus christ was doing...amen

Excellent video Dr. Brown, I though for a while, and struggled with the fear that i had blasphemed the Spirit! This ultimitly lead me to get deeper into the word, and actually established me more in my belief system concerning the Spirit! And i recall John Bever saying something like this; If you worry about having Blasphemed the Spirit, then you have not. Because then you wouldnt want anything to do with God anymore. (quoted of my memory, so it could be abit off)

Thank you Dr Brown for explaining the passage in an honest and clear light of scriptures. It's a blessing to receive honest and true teachings of scriptures, especially in areas which cause great heartache and pain. Remember, Jesus is in control, we look forward to him, and believe that he prepares our steps before us. Be of good cheer, remembering to stand in Faith, Love and Hope. With the greatest of these being love. Father please bless the reader with Grace and Mercy from Jesus Christ.

Thank you for the clear explanation of this verse, I have often trouble by the thought that I may have done such a thing. I having had such a long list of sins I really wasn't sure if I had blasphemed the Holy Spirit. I had decided that even if I had, and could never go to heaven, God was still worthy of my love and praise, and I should still do all I could for Him and His kingdom. But the longer I have known God the more I was troubled at the thought that I might not get to be with Him. So thank you, your careful explanation has put my heart at rest.

The Pharisees and others whom Jesus was speaking to, and who had also gone on to have Jesus crucified, later turned to Peter to ask what they should do, and Peter didn’t say, “Well, unfortunately it’s too late for you. You committed the unpardonable sin and now there’s no hope for you.” Instead, here is what Peter said: Acts 2:36-38: “‘Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ-this Jesus whom you crucified.’ Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Brothers, what are we to do?’ Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” Now you might say, "Well the ones who turned to Peter in Acts 2:36 wouldn't include those who committed the unpardonable sin," but Peter couldn't know who did or who didn't, and just made a blanket statement to any and all of them that they should repent for the forgiveness of their sins.

I'm quite certain Hebrews 10 also has to do with this issue. Read it for yourself: "26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10:26-31, NASB) In verse 29, it specifically says: "...and has insulted the Spirit of grace". It does not say the Holy Spirit nor to blaspheme, but I can't help seeing a connection to that.

Thank you Dr Brown. I appreciate what you have to say. However, after 35 years in the Charismatic Movement I must say that I have seen the most horrid abuses of so-called "Holy Spirit ministry". I have also seen His Divine and Holy Character blasphemed far more in Movements like the "Toronto Blessing", Hagin/Copeland/Hinn's (et al) "prosperity theology", etc, etc that I have in those who deny the validity of such manifestations. It worries me that the modern church is falling for these things which are not to be compared with the signs of our Lord's ministry on Earth, nor that of the Apostles.

Dinosaur Junior. Hi Brother, Allow me by God's grace to reassure you. You do not appear to have committed the unpardonable sin from what you are saying. Be at peace. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is when you witness an irrefutable miraculous work of God, E.g. Healing of a man born deaf and dumb. Then go on to willingly and knowingly attribute the works of the spirit to the devil. This sin is not very easy to commit today, unless you are constantly surrounded by irrefutable wonderful miracles. Be at peace and rest brother, Grace and Mercy and Joy to you in Jesus Christ, the Living Hope from The Father. Amen

Brother, I have a Scripture for you: _13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus._ (Philippians 3) Forget the past. See Isaiah 1:18, Isaiah 43:25, Psalm 103:12. God forgets our past and wants us to forget too. Don't remember the former days of old, let that all be under the blood of the Lord Jesus and be done with that. Now, today, you are Christ's, and for the rest of your days you will serve King Jesus -- even through eternity. I speak that into your life, be assured of the Lord. Amen! Not all speak in tongues, but I'm sure you will if you ask God for it persistently and earnestly. Blessings!

Hey brother, I believe what Dr. Brown said in this video regarding the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is able to save to the uttermost. Murderers can make it, blasphemers can too. Paul was a blasphemer and approved of severe Christian persecution. Those things are, from what I understand, far weightier than saying a phrase in which you curse the Spirit of God. On the gifts of the Spirit (of 1 Cor. 12), these are to extend God's grace to others to meet people's need. The gift of speaking in tongues as it is written is in large part for self-edification. If you pray real earnestly I'm sure you'll get it. But as asa said above, salvation doesn't hinge on that. Salvation hinges on belief upon the Lord Jesus Christ. (Note: His very name/title "Christ"/"Messiah" means the Anointed One (of the Holy Spirit). Here is a hint of what the blasphemy of the Spirit is, too.) If you view the gifts of the Spirit in their proper place -- opportunities to let God's grace pass through you to meet others' needs -- then I'm sure He'll work those miracles through you. Blessings

As for me, i am more blasphemous and violent than Apostle Paul was. i am the mouth of short anger, violent loudspeaker. i am the king of pretenders in spiritual things. 😭😭 Now I hate myself for such, because i does them even though i knew it was wrong both in mind, words and actions/behaviors. I almost murdered my youngest bro, and my own dad with dao due to my short anger. I even uplifted myself claiming myself more powerful and higher than God both in mind, words and actions. I even threw the Bible to the ground, spitted at the Bible cursing. that's why i depicts myself as Judas who betrayed Jesus Messiah, as Peter and all Jesus Christ followers who denied Him and left Him, as among those who yelled angrily at Jesus Christ to be crucified, as those people who beat Him nearly to died, as who yelled, mocked, beat and whatever worst things at Him even on the cross like the thief who mocked Him. Ahhh!!!! 😭😭😢 Why me, Sovereign God? Whyyyyyyy?? 😭😭😭

@@yourlostairpod9556 No, you didn't. I answered you yesterday where you asked me in the comments of another video. I can really understand that you are afraid. Because this topic can make us really anxious. But you really can accept verses like John 3 16. Even if you don't feel worthy enough: It's Jesus who died for you. You know how grace works? You can't deserve grace. These are two complete separate things. Either it's your justice that brings you to heaven or it's Jesus' grace. My brother, you are so afraid and you are not alone. Right now, it's very likely that hundreds or even thousands of Christians are going through similar anxieties. And many of them are trying to find calming answers by watching thousands of sermons and asking many people. As I already said: It's very likely that your brain can't process the answers. Because of the feeling of anxiety it works as a sieve when it comes to understanding the topic. You read an answer that clearly states that you are still going to heaven and you might even feel a little bit relieved. But then, the anxious thoughts come back and you need the next answer. Don't be concerned. It's easy to say but I know what I am talking about. You know, I once suffered from the constant fear that I could think or say something mean about the Holy Spirit and I am very sure that there are many people who experienced the same distress. But God brought me out of that fear. How? Well, I realised what verses like John 3 16 and John 6 47 mean. ALL people who have faith in Jesus, are going to heaven. All. Including you. So, I hope this helps you a little bit. My brother, please keep trusting in God and His promise. He is so good and he knows what you are going through. He sees your distress. And Jesus loves you very much. He suffered for you, he died for you. You may trust him and his promise that if you have faith in Jesus, you are going to heaven. I pray for you.

Blasphemy is a sin just like ALL OTHER SINS in terms of rebellion/disobedience to God but in terms of consequences/punishment it is an unpardonable sin because of whom it is directed to (the Holy Spirit)!.If we as Christians can sin (lie, deceit, fornication, murder, ect) voluntarily and knowingly/consciously then obviously, since blasphemy is a sin, if we blaspheme against the Holy Spirit (knowingly/consciously) , regardless of our relation with God, blasphemy must hold its significance in the eyes of God FOR GOD CAN NOT LIE!. Blasphemy is a personal and voluntary act directed against God/the Holy Spirit!.Since is an act against the Holy Spirit perpetuated by man (be it Christian or unbeliever) then man (God is NOT in control of man's thoughts nor is God responsible for man's actions) is accountable for it!.It would be foolish to imply that in Jesus time men (be it Christians or unbelievers) had the capacity and liberty to blaspheme and suddenly mankind has LOST that capacity and liberty today. In what grounds should anyone teach that?.At least not on grounds of the holy Bible which does NOT teach that blasphemy is an offense based on dispensation nor does it teach that God has unable mankind to have FREE will and exercise it!.

I'm afraid you've gotten this completely wrong. There is only one unforgivable sin - unbelief. There is nothing more that God can do than to reveal Himself to a man. If the man knowingly continues on in unbelief after that then he is lost forever. Of course it's the work of the Holy Spirit to reveal God to us. Jesus was warning the people that if miracles weren't enough to bring them to belief then they were doomed.
