You may have heard of the Book of Mormon, but you might be surprised what it’s actually about.
On the surface, it’s a 1,000 year account of a great civilization. But at heart, it’s about individuals striving to learn of and follow Jesus Christ.
It begins in Jerusalem around 600 BC when a prophet was warned by God to flee the impending destruction of the city.
He and his family are guided across the ocean to what is now the Americas.
The people grow and eventually divide into two great nations who have times of war and times of peace.

Genuine question: How does the Book of Mormon confirm the teachings of the Bible? Do you mean that it merely agrees with the Bible? Saying it “confirms” them implies that there is something provable or probable about the Book of Mormon, which could serve as evidence for the Bible’s claims. What would be an example of clear evidence for the truth of the Book of Mormon?

There is none. The Book of Mormon is a book made up thousands of years after the fact by a random guy named Joseph Smith. His claims are completely false and unverifiable, such as claiming to have translated from "reformed egyptian" despite the only witnesses being.. ahem, people who were close to him and later close to his church, and a lot of excuses when this stuff went "missing". It also claims some weird pseudo-archaeology about the native americans that there is ZERO evidence for., or if there is supposed "evidence" it's often taken wildly out of context. It's just american evangelism rebranded into a new religion. It's not true and it's hardly even Christian.

Hey Clay! You have wonderful and intriguing questions! How does the Book of Mormon actually confirm, more than just agreeing, with the teaching of the Bible? As explained in the video, the Book of Mormon is a written record of a people who believed in Jesus Christ. Although it matches with time periods in both the old and new testament, it takes place on the opposite side of the world. And as I'm sure you're well aware, they didn't have technology back then. Instant communication with other parts of the world weren't possible back then. So if you read the teachings of the bible and then compare it with the teachings of the Book of Mormon, and they match/agree/confirm one another, that's a pretty remarkable thing, considering that each book was written independently from one another. As for your second question, "What would be an example of clear evidence for the truth of the Book of Mormon?" As for that question, you'll have to read the Book of Mormon to figure that out. But let me offer you my humble reassurance that if you are genuinely curious, that there is a proper answer to your question. As both the Bible and Book of Mormon confirm, "Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." And if you're looking for some guided help, our missionaries would be thrilled to offer you some freely at your convivence. That's why they serve!

Jesus came to the Americas after He was Resurrected, so about 34 AD. When he told his apostles in Jerusalem that He had "other sheep" he had to visit so they could hear his voice, the people living on the other side of the world were some of the "other sheep" He was talking about. The Book of Mormon was written by various prophets and historians inspired by God, just like the Bible. And then in about 400 AD, a prophet named Mormon compiled and condensed those hundreds of years of records. They were hidden away until the 1800s, when God was ready to reveal them to the world. He sent an angel to lead Joseph Smith to where the record was hidden, and gave Joseph the ability to translate them into English. That translated record is what we call the Book of Mormon today.

Explain the trinity. Is it just that there are three in the Godhead? If Father spoke, saying He is well pleased, Christ was in water after baptism, and the Holy Ghost descended in the form of a dove, how could they be the same? How could Christ ask the Father “forgive them for they know not what they do” if they are the same? I want to understand how the LDS views of the Godhead work with or are different from the trinity.
