I had a childhood friend die from a drug overdose. I hadn’t talked to her in years for obvious reasons, but my mom wanted to go because she was good friends with her dad. After the sermon the pastor asked if anyone would like to share a personal story about her. It was normal, parents, grandparents, softball coaches, ect. Until a girl stood up and professed that they were in love, planned on getting clean together, and running away. You could hear the 200+ people in the church gasp.

My sister lost her 3 yr old baby girl about 25 yrs ago. At the funeral one of her husband's pseudo-Christian aunts came up to her and told her what a shame it was that "that poor unbaptized child will spend eternity in Hell" I was banned from any functions involving that side of her family that day.

Here’s one I saw in a previous video: At a funeral in Greece a man fainted. He was a hefty guy and required four men to pick him up, each taking a limb. The man became conscious during this and shouted, “ Είμαι ζωντανός! Είμαι ζωντανός!”, which roughly means, “I’m alive! I’m alive!” The church erupted in laughter!

When I was 14 me and bro were tapped to be Paul bearers for our Great Grandma. Winter in Wisconsin is not fun . There was 2 boys , 14 and 16 and 4 senior citizens carrying a casket in dress shoes on slick ground on a cold ass windy day. I'm amazed that we didn't go down and have to do another funeral.

If I die, I’m paying the coffin dancers; a random group of people only there to say ‘you did well, boss’ and someone to stand far but not too far from my funeral in a black umbrella even if it’s not raining.

No one showed up except the gravedigger, the preacher and I. Lady died, had been abusive to her kids so they left 50 years prior, husband had died 40 years prior. She regretted her choices but we never found her family (and we spent thousands on a PI). I stayed with her as she died. To this day I have no idea where her family went, and I'm certain I'm the only one who knows she existed (outside a few records).

So I lost my aunt almost a year ago coming up in the next few weeks. She was my mom's brothers wife. But we where super close. Her father is still here. And for some odd fucked up reason! This man like to take pictures of the open casket. Full view of the body. He did it at hers. And his when his wifes body was in the morgue he was taking pictures of her.

Back in the day when people still had wakes in the family home - my aunt tried to crawl into the casket with her husband - she was not a small woman - let's just say - Humpty-dumpty had a great fall and resulted in lots of screaming and yelling and all of us kids were hustled out of the house.

That first story is my favorite I’m glad everyone in that room had a great sense of humor, even the pastor Also here’s my story, it’s not a very long one My great grandmother passed away a few months back Due to you-know-what19, there wasn’t that many people, so my dad was one of the people who carried the casket Now, my dad has psoriatic arthritis, and getting down stairs is a little tough for him, and whaddya know, the church had a long staircase leading outside, my dad said he’s surprised he didn’t pass out from going down all those stairs Meanwhile, my grandparents (dad’s parents) were having they’re own little experience For context, my grandfather is a huge (and I mean HUGE) germaphobe, My grandparents were starting to pack up and leave, and one of the nuns approached my grandmother to console her (since it was her mom that passed away), I guess on instinct, my grandmother hugged her, which caused my grandfather to lose his shit. You’d think he stepped on a nail or something with how much he was freaking out

Of course your grandfather freaked out. Social distancing is the rule in our new normal ... and you don't have to be a germaphobe to know that.

A really bad winter, the car procession from the parlor to the cemetery had 5 cars slide off the road, those who made it, found out there was no hearse. 3 hours later. hearse arrives. everyone is snowed in. Burial is postphoned until next day. Nobody went to the prepaid restaurant dinner.

The day when grandfather past away we had a funeral for him. Well during the time when he was alive I was living with my uncle my dad's little brother and his longtime girlfriend who I consider them my parents. My older sister, my older brother and my older cousin where living with us too my parents have mental illnesses and couldn't take care of us. While my older cousin's went to jail at the time for drugs and they are both psychotic. So both of our biological parents came and got kicked out for starting drama. When it came time for the will it was massive shit show my mom and the aunt that was in jail got written out. My uncle got 2/10 it was a lot of money when me, my older brother and my older sister got older we gave half of our share for our uncle, aunt, and my older cousin.

3:00 "My friends [sic] uncle was single. His mom is the only one of 3 kids to get married." WTF has that got to do with anything? ... me then realises it's supposed to mean the friend's mom, not the uncle's mom ... re-read: Friend's "... mom is the only one of 3 kids to get married." WTF has that got to do with anything?

After my mother's funeral, one of my aunts and I were across the street from the church, standing on the sidewalk next to the hearse as they were loading her casket in. A truck was driving up the street, same side of the street the hearse was on, noticed the hearse had just turned on the purple lights to indicate it was carrying remains, and stopped so the hearse could move ahead of them. It was a pizza truck. Not only that, it followed the hearse after the traffic light turned green. My aunt and I had noticed this and had to hide our faces in our funeral programs because we were trying not to bust a gut laughing over the fact that my mother had apparently ordered a pizza from the other side.

My wife has an aunt (mother's sister) who I am not fond of. At the family gathering at her maternal grandmother's house after the funeral of said family member, said aunt asked something to the effect of, "Who passed gas at the church?" I turned to my father in law (no relation to the grandmother) and uttered quietly, "Whoever smelled it dealt it."
