Have a mixture of every plate across 4 sites and 2 sporting good stores. Nothing sounds better than a comp plate sliding across the sleeve. That metal zip is a fine tune. Plus the deadblow bounce makes it easier to clean when kids are sleeping.

I like and appreciate 99% of your reviews, and have purchased several REP items in part because of your reviews. That said, i never understood why home gym owners would buy competition bumper plates?? I get they’re slightly thinner, but the cost simply isn’t justified, for 90% of home gym owners as I’ve got a whole tree of iron weight plates, if i need to stack a lot of weight for a deadlift or squat. I also have a lot of bumper plates, some of them from REP, and they are very good quality, why would i spend 30% more for competition for plates?? I’m glad you mentioned most people don’t need them. It makes way more sense to buy other key pieces of equipment. Every KZbinr that is good gets sponsored or endorsed by a fitness company, and they all start out with Titan or value priced equipment. Then after some success and affiliate links they slowly begin to “upgrade.” This is somewhat disingenuous to home gym owners, because the reviews suddenly become about higher end equipment that not only most people can’t afford, but they simply don’t need. My Titan X3 rack is outstanding, and costs much less then some of the premium racks out there. You seem like a super down to earth guy, like friends i grew up with. Please Don’t start reviewing a bunch of high end equipment most of your viewers can’t or won’t buy, then you become like every other KZbinr, and are no longer the genuine “neighbor” next door with a gym friend we all have grown to like. Just my .2 cents

Appreciate the feedback. Most people buy competitive cause they look nice and are thinner but it is mainly a flex to show people they can afford it

Great video! With price being the main point to consider, I’d have to go with the color bumper plates. But if I had to choose between bumper or iron plates, I’d go with iron. Those Rep old school iron plates have my interest atm. Haha

I think you may have calculated the price per pound using a single plate, when they're sold in pairs? Their 45 pound competition plates currently retail for $299.99 per pair, including shipping, so $3.33/lb. Plus with black friday deals you get another 10% off. I got the 320lb competition set for $900 shipped last week. Great price and no tax either!

I'm a serious lifter and looking at buying four pairs of 25 kg bumper plates so I can deadlift without getting into trouble with my landlord anymore. It didn't really get into it, but these plates are entry-level and a Swedish brand that doesn't exist outside perhaps the rest of the nordic countries. They're quite thick at just over 3 inches, and they're very similar in shape and appearance to your rep fitness coloured plate, except they're just black. *Do you have any opinions on how well a hub holds up in a low-end bumper plate of this style? If you've noticed any relationship in difference between a higher-end and a lower/mid-range one and how long you think it'll last doing mainly just deadlifts and possibly squats (so I can bail more easily, which happens rarely).* I won't hold you to it if you're wrong. :P I really wanna buy these ones because they're so much cheaper than everything else.
@NoFate247 Жыл бұрын
Hubs usually hold up I home gyms quite well. What's the price differential
@TheBcoolGuy Жыл бұрын
@@NoFate247 Regular price for these is about $61 each for a 25 kg plate. Plates more like the coloured plate in your video would be around $90-110. Nordic Fighter is the brand if you want to know.

@@NoFate247Well I thought you wanted to know how much cheaper they normally are than the somewhat higher-end ones. Right now, they're om sale for $38.25/each (US), which is obviously quite cheap indeed. They have a ton in stock and I think they wanna sell them while people are still interested in buying weights, with the economic depression and all. The 25s are cheaper than the 20s. So would you go for it?

Was there a huge massive sale on the 55 pound red synergies bumper plates? They are sold out everywhere and I see so many selling alot of these sets brand new in box for 170 a pair when they run 250 a pair new. Makes me think some type of scam?
@NoFate247 Жыл бұрын
Might be a scam but they do on sale often

@@NoFate247 I agree but who buys 4 pairs of 55 and says they don’t need them. Not to mention if they are sold out everywhere and the list price is 255 a pair. They would be selling them for 350 plus a set. Not paying 255 selling for 170. Why not return them? I believe it if one person said it but so many. Makes me think they are buying them from alibaba where name brands are know. To be faker.

@NoFate2473 жыл бұрын
Sizes are the same, all fit two inch barbell. Bumpers you can drop, they are thicker because of their material, and are quieter. Olympic metal plates are made of metal and you typically find these at a local gym. What type of lifting do you do
