What is the difference in UniWigs skin, silk, lace and mono top hair toppers?

Hi Jenny, came across your video and even though I don't need a topper I found your tutorial brilliant. I am 63 yo and my hairdresser told me my fine hair would never grow past my shoulders. Well - 6 years later - my hair is now down to my waist. I mix castor oil, rosemary oil and and one egg yolk. If you are interested, I can send you my method. Hi Jenny, I wash my hair thoroughly once, then I use a 200ml hair colouring applicator bottle, fill the bottle 1/3 with HEXANE free castor oil (I get mine on ebay) 1 egg yolk and 8 drops of rosemary oil. Shake bottle to mix it all. Apply on scalp. Massage in. I put any kind of hair food on the rest of my hair and put it into a bun on top of my head. Then I wrap glad wrap around my head, cover glad wrap with shower cap and then cover shower cap with one of those microfibre hair towels. In the winter I even cover the hair towel with another big towel as well. Leave on for at least 2 hours. 4 hours would be even better. I have been told by some of my friends that they felt a tiny bit of a tingling at first. I put that down to it working. Then I wash my hair thoroughly twice and condition it. I do this at least once a week. After you have done this a few times you will know exactly how much of the castor oil you need and you can adjust accordingly. Good review 😊does the silk base lay flat? I’ve always avoided this type as I’ve heard it’s bulky and doesn’t sit as flat as others

@@M1996-q9w great question! I noticed it is a little bulky and can lay weird especially when fresh out of the box. However, after some wearing I find the silk tops tend to get a little more flexible and they lay a bit more flat. But you’re right, they do have some more bulk than the other base types

Thank you for your video. But wish you would also say the topper's product name (claire, breeze, etc). Also wish you would show the back, crown area. I have purchased a few toppers and the back crown areas showed the clip bumps and looked like a cowlick. Also, would be nice to talk about, which top construction treatment has more parting flexibility. I wear a left part with just a few fringe bangs. (which is popular for us older girls to cover some of our forehead lines lol!). Can you cut a few fringe bangs into the fronts of these toppers? The ones they sell with bangs have such heavy bangs. Sorry, lots of questions.

Those do not but I have seen others cut bangs into the lace front toppers. I’m sure you could with the mono as well, but I never have ❤

@@joanneleib5887 Savannah is the silk topper and she’s 130% density. I’d say pretty average for a topper! As far as putting bangs into it, I have never tried but I would love to know if it’s possible too!! Sorry, not much help with that question!

I wish I had seen this video before I purchased my topper..I want to have some of my bio hair showing but I bought a lace front..when I pull it back a bit it won't lay down..what should I do besides scream and sew a clip in the front and part it so the clip won't show

@@terrismith5402 honestly I think sewing a clip will the the only way to wear it so that you can set it behind your hairline. I love the look of the lace front but you have to glue or tape them down!

Well... I thought the skin base was a good choice, better quality and durability than the silk base. I bought it a few days ago, it didn't arrive yet but I hope I'm not disappointed 😢it's my first topper from Uniwigs and I really don't feel like sending it back to China if I don't like it 😔

It depends. If you have dark hair and you’re wearing a blonde wig/topper, then you probably wouldn’t.
