Basically Power Rangers needs to change their story telling. Their targets are basically to kids and the story, the plot, the cinematography are for kids. Take example the Avengers, they are more to all ages viewers based on the story, the plot, and cinematography. It's believable. Thats why even adults also interested in heroes nowadays.

well i wouldn't use Avengers as an example, i think a better example would be Kamen Rider Amazons/Amazon Riders. The original Kamen Rider Amazon didn't really target kids but was still pretty clean. But the way the reboot made the plot darker to target adults was cool. I believe that Power Rangers should take one series (or make a new one) and give a dark atmosphere around it. NOT SUPER DARK like Amazon Riders but dark enough to appeal to both young adults and regular adults. and if you never seen Amazon Riders i recommend watching it, it's on Amazon Prime(ironic i know)

Honestly, a lot of seasons did do what you're saying. All the ones between IN SPACE and WILD FORCE as well as R.P.M. They were family friendly without being targeted directly at kids. They weren't afraid to go dark.

I stopped watching Power Rangers series but I've been watching Super Sentai series alot on Tokushoutsu channel. Let me tell you, Toei will not sell their bread and butter because technically it was Saban that asked them if he could adapt for the American audience. Hasbro and Saban did not come up with any of these ideas as a whole on their own. Super Sentai is the soul of Power Rangers.

They are really pushing MMPR. Why not reboot with MMPR and follow the boom comics and do there own thing. CGI megazord battles spliced with classic monster suit battles. Or screw all that and they go pure CGI animated

a true MMPR Comic Reboot in live action would BLOW the F up. But they would have to commit to doing about 13 episodes a season with a budget of about 2M a episode. which would be about the same as Beast Morphers budgets of 40 episodes. The real biggest problem with PR is people see and think What is this TRASH. They have to put some real money and effort into the brand for once. No more cheap rubber monsters with closed mouths talking. They should take cues from Star Trek SPD and Lost Galaxy with te Monster designs. Time Force and RPM with the way live action PR should feel and been written

I've already thought of Hasbro and Netflix following Voltron's journey, and create an anime-inspired TV show and teen drama based on the ongoing BOOM Studios comic series, with seasons based on Go Go, MMPR 2016, and the upcoming spin-offs, with miniseries and TV specials based on Beyond the Grid, Ranger Slayer, and Drakkon New Dawn. I'm hoping to edit and rewrite my word booklet that describes the development which I started back in 2018.

Entertainment One is actually a subsidiary of Hasbro and they're planning a Mighty Morphing Power Rangers movie reboot since the last movie flop. The old Saban Entertainment has been acquired by Disney, Toei produced a 44th Super Sentai season called Mashin Sentai Kiramager and they're working on something called Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger for the 45th Super Sentai anniversary in 2021, it could be a new season. If Hasbro doesn't work with Toei anymore the new movie could relaunch the world franchise that can be assigned to a different company or Hasbro could start a stand alone Power Rangers production without getting material from Super Sentai anymore. They're actually working with Paramount for the new movie reboot.

@King anime Master They always talk about cancellation but no official announce has been made. The Super Sentai franchise is not over yet but the american one could take some new direction depending on the new Mighty Morphing movie reboot. In the american making of they used to get the japanese fight scenes from Super Sentai but a few Rangers like Titanium one were a U.S. exclusive not included in the japanese version. It means they got the potential to make a stand alone product but they used Super Sentai to earn money and speed up the series production.

Hasbro better not buy Super Sentai with the sole intention of eliminating the competition! If they did that with the intention of cornering the Japanese market, I highly doubt the Japanese audience would appreciate it. Power Rangers and Sentai should co-exist rather than one replacing the other - each has their own fan-base with some overlap, so eliminating Sentai will alienate a large portion of those fans - just as much as ending Power Rangers.

I hope that Power Rangers goes the route of DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths, X-Men Days of Future Past or Star Trek reboot films. All they need is some kind of huge movie or TV event similar to Shattered Grid in the comics. Massive battle involving legendary rangers that allows them to “reset” the timeline at the end. Allows you to keep enough nostalgia for long time fans while simultaneously allowing you to remake the series bigger and better for a new audience.

It's cool to see you and Coolio collaborate. You guys are both awesome by the way. I think an animated Power Rangers would be cool, especially if it was inspired by the Boom comics series. Sure Super Sentai is fun but, Power Rangers has become a little overly reliant on stock footage. Sometimes the over reliance can create weird plot holes or have negative effects on the show like the Legendary Battle for example. I would also like to see more darker takes on Power Rangers in the same vein as Time Force, RPM, or Lost Galaxy. E-Squad forever!

Check KIKAI SENTAI ZENKAIGER , even if Toei announced the 43th as the last season in 2019, they released a 44th season called Mashin Sentai Kiramanger in 2020 and they're planning something like a 45th season for 2021 or other, this year is gonna be the 45th Super Sentai's anniversary so it could be related to that. It's not the end of Super Sentai yet and Power Rangers franchise can last for at least 1 or 2 seasons more. In 2019 they said they're more focused on Kamen Raider series.

7:23 Este: People will only Know MMPR People: (can't tell the difference between an MMPR and a Dino Charge action figure). Listen, as long as if the suit is made out of spandex with a black visor, its Power Rangers (even if its a Sentai suit, ppl will assume its a Power Rangers suit). I mean PROABLY the reason why Beast Morphers didn't do well is because the suit looked different from the traditional PR suit. I know time force also had colored visors but they just colored swapped so they had a Black and Color patter on the suit, and the mouth shape molded on the helmet to let people know it is still a Power Rangers team.

looking back on it, it was decent. Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, and RPM were good, SPD and Overdrive were decent, and Mystic Force and Jungle Fury are not that good. Saban is the only era that has a good chunk of seasons From Zeo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed, and Time Force, even Wild Force is not that bad. Some seasons we think are good based on our nostalgia but not on how good the characters, the story and the plot are. That's why MMPR is so popular outside of the fandom, because of nostalgia and not how good it is. Rewatching Season 1 and 2 and even season 3, they are not good, but we still like the characters due to them being likable. That's why I don't like ninja steel. They take a sentai that has nothing to do with high school and doesn't really work with a high school setting and tried to make MMPR again just because they saw Dino Supercharge wasn't liked. They didn't look at dino supercharge by saying "How do we fix our mistakes?", but instead go "Oh, people didn't like it because it was not MMPR" even though that was the main draw of dino charge was that it wasn't dino charge. I know high school can be done in power rangers and sentai, I have seen Dino Thunder and Megaranger, but if the studio wants to do high school again, they need to look at what made Dino Thunder a good season for power rangers and what made Megaranger a good season for sentai.

I’d love to see them find a budget and make an original power Rangers series with a compelling narrative. Also bring some pace back in to the series; I’ve found the last decade a little slow, but that can sometimes be down to the music. The Wasserman soundtrack gave so much more energy to the series and Id love to see that again.

I would be disappointed if Hasbro just rehashed MMPR in alternate universes. It was always the fun of watching different seasons ending and new teams forming. I love MMPR, and it had it's time (still love the comics and its great cause those can go beyond the limitations of animation and live action). With them doing new seasons with new caste we got awesome character like Xander, Andros, Sky, Jen, Taylor, Mike (Lost Galaxy). We see different team character take on familiar problems in a nee way (Dino Charge when Tyler put small flowers in the rangers belts to identify each other from the doubles).

Good question Nathan. I think it's a shame that Saban made Masked Rider into an underwhelming show. Kamen Rider is as big of a franchise in Toku as Sentai and Ultraman.

The ratings on TV are down in general as far as I understand. Also it's sad to hear that Beast Morphers isn't getting watched that much since I think it's actually freaking great. A couple of its episodes have been duds but for the most part I really like it. The actors are good, a lot better than most of the Neo Saban era (the weak link being Ravi and he improves quickly). The action is freaking fantastic and there's a real sense of strong fight choreography and impact. Even the zord fights are really really good. I actually think that making the Gigadrones and Robotrons separate creatures was really good move. Also the suits are great. I think that the Beast Morphers suits might be my favorite ever, they're just so slick.

Nickelodeon doesn't even care about PR, nickelodeon hardly promotes the show, 22 episodes, a unnecessary 4 or 5 month hiatus, the way Nickelodeon handles the airing of the show is ridiculous, and even though former owner saban knew fans hated PR on Nickelodeon, it never stopped him renewing PR's contract with Nickelodeon over and over

Gotta say, the reboot of Power Rangers as a franchise by re-adapting pasts seasons into modern super sentai adaptations is pretty unique. But personally, it's a bit too late in my opinion. I watched MMPR to Lost Galaxy. I think Samurai was out and I saw an advertisement for Legendary Battle. I binged watched (2 years) all of Power Rangers on Netflix. I’ve kept up since then. Watching it on my DVR Saturday night. I’m in my mid 30s.

As I am Japanese I was absolutely terrified when you made the suggestion of Hasbro buying Sentai. I'm sure power rangers are just fine but I would hate for Sentai to be replaced by a western version of it. Sentai is catered for Japanese (Asian) audiences just like Power Rangers is adjusted for western audiences. I would hate it if the only option we have becomes a western version dubbed in Japanese when the concept of the show originally comes from Japan...

1: I would personally love a remake of most past PR shows, were all the ranger teams exist in the same universe (no multiverses type of thing). 2: Though in my remake version, Dino Force (Mighty Morphin) wouldn’t be earth’s first Power Rangers, but instead be PR Goranger in a OVA series set during the Wild West era. 3: The remake would start with the five teams named Victory (Fiveman), Aquila Force (Jetman), Dino Force (Zyuranger), Star Force (Dairanger), and Ninja Force (Kakuranger) that are part of one sage, Which would end with a team up mini series. PS: I wish Toei would take a long break from Super Sentai after next year, so that PR could keep up.

I think right now would be a good time for Power Rangers to be the next big thing in fandom especially with Lighting collection figures being very good, and everyone's recent interest in Japanese properties such as DBZ, MHA, and Kamen Rider and the recent decline in Marvel with endgame being a poetic send off to MCU and Star Wars with the sequel trilogy being butt and those figures peg warming the shelves. I think if Hasbro listens to the fans, makes good story telling, continue making the good figures like lightning collection, and embraces the other rangers series also respecting the Super Sentai series they would have a have a successful IP
