an important factor is also that..with POD, products are only being made if people actually want them, whereas in the conventional clothes industry , a lot of clothes (&other products) are being made that NOBODY will ever wear. So in that respect, POD is definitely the greener option of the 2. People and political parties have not quite realised that potential yet i believe, but if they would, the print on demand idea of not unnecessarily using huge amounts of resources, could also spread to other industries who would then also make only products that people really want by displaying merely pictures online.

Northern VA! Me too....you could live anywhere though, why here of all places? I'm going to move to Florida asap lol. My Etsy shirt store is booming after working my butt off for a full year, and studying your channel (and Wholesale Ted). Thanks so much for all of your fantastic instructional and shirt trend videos. I honestly, absolutely love POD as an artist, it's incredibly fun and way more lucrative than any other creative job I've had (mostly in publishing). Love the photo reviews of folks wearing my shirts. Makes me happy. Excited to know POD isn't going anywhere for a while.

I used a couple of print on demand sites. The next thing i knew...all my designs were stolen and all over several other sites. That is your future if you use print on demand. This is the actual reality. I just built my own site and created better designs. Who knows... They may be stolen eventually. You just can trust anyone. My site uses a fulfillment company, so i am just waiting for my new designs to show up everywhere. The whole thing is tough...not easy if you are a little guy that don't have the time or money to protect yourself. You start spending a good amount of your time emailing sites about your stolen designs. If you are starting off in this business...you may be better off driving a cab instead

Centralization... yep, and been happening for a while... I started seeing it when Autodesk ended up purchasing (to sink later) XSI (main software to generate film CGI back in the day). Then acquired Alias Maya (not to sink it: they did chose to keep it strong and with updates, surely as the professional user base was too large). Even while they were already reigning with 3DS Max, Autocad, all the previz business, a part of the game industry, a large part of 3D for real state, etc. Adobe... same... they acquired Macromedia (Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver, FreeHand, etc) back in the day, but they keep getting bigger and bigger. Macromedia had purchased Altsys/Aldus Freehand, and when Adobe acquired Macromedia, its main real plan was to sink FH just a year later (as all of it was due to Freehand being a formidable rival to Adobe Illustrator! Much more loved by designers back then) They acquire every threatening or successful company that fits their plans... Allegorithmic, last big case I know of, got acquired by Adobe; now Substance Painter and Substance Designer (together with Zbrush, absolutely key in any game company workflow) are part of the Adobe Cloud, too. Microsoft has been doing this since always, etc. At some point in tech it is all going to be MS (they acquired recently Mixer, to close it later, which is a very Microsoft thing, too) , Google (years ago acquired KZbin), Apple, Facebook(recently acquired Instagram and Whatsapp), Amazon (acquired Twitch , actually!), Autodesk and Adobe's property, lol (I'm leaving out several big names in IT). Also, big media channels, TV networks push their particular agenda (political or social, or whatever) more than ever, even in the shows plots/scripts. It is all going more and more to be controlled by big companies (sadly even general perception/opinion), with governments losing control over these... unless more regulation happen. Not betting on it, tho. We'll see.

What do you think about POD graphic and phrase tees’ future with the current opinion of it. It’s being labeled “cheugy” (uncool). Is there a future for the graphic tees? Even mugs are being labeled cheugy and uncool.
