Others fled the country to avoid having to fight. The Russian government has had to use prison inmates to fight in return for a pardon bc no one else wants a part of this. If that was the case 99.9% of the stuff humans do wouldn’t make sense, and we likely would be killed off due to inefficiency. Seeing as the apparent beings you mention are able to create complex life from inorganic matter, it wouldn’t be very efficient to create over billions of years a single species of sentient primates to mine data, especially when 99% of those primates are doing no data collection at all, and the others are just barely grasping quantum mechanics after 200,000 years of collective research, when they themselves likely have much deeper understandings.

I remember when we linked up and docked with a Russian space craft for the first time. It was a big thing at the time that took a great deal of planning and required modifications to the space crafts to even make the two capsules compatible for docking with one another. but come on let's get real neither side has ever trusted one another and I have no doubt both crews were instructed to spy on one another in some covert secret way. And what is the point of the human race ? I mean really what is the point ? The point is there can be only one ideology and slave to a tyrannical over reaching government is not an ideology that is promising to the human species and just because it appeals to a few privileged scientist the reason these missions even get off the ground is to gain knowledge but the long range goals is to generate superiority in space and you are fooling yourself if you can't see the truth . The government is leaning precariously close to turning communist in it's total control over it's citizens , lawlessness of our elected officials , corruption of our elected officials and failure to keep their oath of office without any fear of being held accountable . Yes scientist work side by side with our adversaries and when I was growing up the term used to describe this side by side with Russia was collaborator ,espionage and treason .

All true, except that there is no inherent ”point” of the human race. The one that prof. Cox is promulgating is also a constructed one, like all other proclaimed reasons for us being here . Id say human race’s purpose is to understand that no matter how big you can be in terms of what you can achieve or what you try to understand or explore science or god. You are nothing in the whole existence. Just try liberating yourself with the rules that are laid in front of you in the name of holy books. It is one of those games where you pick the right one correctly out of the 3 and do it that way.
