Blight town lore maybe is so obscure because everyone naturally wants to refrain from that whole area, I wonder why lol! Where all Elden Ring lore is so popular you’re making the best dark souls analysis

i really thought i was so meticulous about lore, finding out the deepest lore like it being the bowmaster Faris guarding Havel inside the tower from a snipe point, yet here we are you showing the depths sewers were a trade route. Cant believe i never noticed why all the wheels were there and stuff.

A gameplay mechanic that i think supports your theory is that the gaping dragon's vomit attack destorys equipment. The slimes have no equipment, only bones and the similar looking slime. Granted dark souls is partly inspired by dnd (see the stone golems casting slow), so this may be a coincidence to typical slime portrayals, but i think it does link up like you said.

Hey The Firelink Conspiracy, I am thinking about making a Dark Souls lore book in the style of an actual real world history text book. Would that be something that you are interested in being a part of? Let me know and in any event keep the vids coming.

It's awesome to see you uploading one video after the other! Do you perhaps have an explanation about the ring of the evil eye that's found in the depths? It says the ring contains the soul of the dark beast that attacked astora which is odd as there doesn't seem to be anything in the game lining with the term "dark beast". And astora is within lordran just like Catarina and carim right? If so do we perhaps actually see astora somewhere but don't know it is astora like how Izalith is the Great Swamp but never directly stated that? It just seems odd for the game to say astora was specifically attacked as it doesn't seem to have any big implications, but then again it is probably something big disguised as a little
@thefirelinkconspiracy3 ай бұрын
Yes, I stated this in a comment yesterday - Astora, much like the Great Swamp and other areas, is present in the games. Most of the territory we travel through in the first half of Dark Souls was likely to have been part of Astora. But I will explain this in more detail on a later video. Thanks for commenting!

I think blight pus is seperate from the slimes, the sames are just putrid meat piles kept alive by humanity. We can gather this from information learned from DS3, though you don't need that game to come ro this conclusion. Blightpus pus is described as tiny little humanities writhing underneath the skin, doesn't exactly mach up with the slimes but does match up with the Pus of Man from Dark Souls 3. Blightpus seems to have been created to be the dark souls equivelant of a diseases stemming from contaminated drinking water before being brought back and elaborated on later.
@thefirelinkconspiracy3 ай бұрын
Thank you for commenting! The Blightpus is one instance of the phenomena explained by Hawkwood happening en mass. Blightpus isn't described as "tiny little humanities writhing underneath the skin" - that is the Firekeeper's condition. The Fair Lady was forced to link herself to a bonfire to contain the excess humanity she consumed when she healed the Blightpus. The Pus of Man are similar in nature to the slimes, yes. I'll cover this in a later video. But they definitely do not steem merely from the drinking of "contaminated water"; and in fact, the "contaminated water" is, more or less, water that is full of human remains; that is what grants it poisonous qualities.

3:56 maybe souls have some sort of a binding aspect, or forming aspect, that give a being its shape. And eating a bunch of beings with souls but not the souls themselves causes the eater’s own soul to fail to contain the shape of their matter, reducing them to slime. Or alternatively, maybe consuming enough bodies with powerful enough souls puts your own soul in competition, and the internal pull reduces someone to sludge.

Slimes appear in 3 main places in ds3. 1. Cathedral of the deep 2. Smoldering Lake 3. Anor Londo All 3 have connections to either Aldrich or Izalith. There’s definitely a motif of consumption that links the gaping dragon, the deep, and the bed of chaos. Specifically the cult of the deep seek human dregs, while chaos weapons are empowered by “eaten” humanity. Perhaps the slimes/aldritch are like the end state of consumption, in contrast to hollows, the end state of stagnation and stretched immortality,m? The ones in the cathedral and anor londo could be like Aldritch’s cells or antibodies that flaked off or are being controlled in a hive mind. While the ones in the depths would be spawned of the chaos flame’s insatiable hunger.
@thefirelinkconspiracy3 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting! The "motif" that links the Gaping Dragon and the Deep is the consumption of men. In the case of the Deep, they consume human dregs to become the "bedrock of the world", as in, to restore the damp, dark 'abyss' from the Age of Fire. The slimes we see in DS3's Anor Londo and in the Cathedral of the Deep are either chunks of Aldrich's body that act autonomously or other members of the cult who ate too many men and "softened into sludge", as Hawkwood puts it. I'd recommend you watch my video about the Way of White's reforms for an in-depth explanation :) The Chaos Flame would not "spawn" slimes arbitrarily. The slimes we see in the Demon Ruins can be explained by the same phenomena as the other types of slimes. Dark Souls operates with a solid 'fantastical but scientific' logic, and magical, bizarre phenomena can be explained through understanding the nature of the world.

Im pretty sure the gaping dragon is female, and pregnant! I say this because of it hiding where it is and the camera zooming in on and emphasizing it's bulging belly.
@thefirelinkconspiracy3 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting! The Gaping Dragon's belly is not "pregnant", but "bloated" with excess remains of men. It is food poisoned. There is no evidence to suggest that it is pregnant, given that the bloated belly phenomena has a clear explanation.

Hey, thank you for commenting! I don't have any plans for it at the moment. Elden Ring's story did not grab my interest as Dark Souls' and Demon's Souls' have. I'd rather focus on deeply understanding one series, and on being able to dissect it to its core. But I really appreciate the kind words.
