Because these are fundamentally different people living in different climates. The entire west coats is dominated by huge coastal cities that started voting blue for the sake of public welfare to support the ballooning populations. At the same time the interior remained red because they are by and large working people that provide for themselves. Really you guys need to look big picture, because if these interiors where huge amounts of the nations food comes from crumble, then it is basically a death sentence for the cities.

@@RedStar441 Eastern Oregon is supported by western Oregon, not the other way around. The hard working citizens of western Oregon pay for eastern Oregon roads, bridges, schools ect ect ect. If not for the generous gifts from western Oregon, eastern Oregonians would be driving on dirt roads.

Lived in idaho my whole life and I and everyone i know does NOT want Oregon and their people being part of idaho. We have been inundated the last 3 years with californians, washington and oregon transplants and they suck!!

It’s literally the ranchers, farmers, hunting & fishing guides that want to be absorbed - not the woke Portland, Corvallis, Eugene people.. from what I can tell the folks in Southern and Eastern Oregon have a LOT more in common with Idahoans. But that being said. It’s too complicated and never going to happen. It also cuts my county in half, so I’m not too sure how I feel about that.

Problem is literally half the state wants to move. Why put all the strain on logistics and incur all the extra transport fees for everyone involved, plus the challenges of finding new homes and jobs, when instead you could just move an imaginary border line. That way nobody has to move. Oregonians get to have their druggy, crimey cities. The (new) Idahoans get to live their rural lives. Everyone's happy.

Less than 10 % of the population of Oregon doesn't get to cut up Oregon because they disagree with the majority of Oregonians, eastern Oregon can live their lives, they do not get to cut up Oregon just because they are upset, they don't get their way. they can take their ball and go to their Oregon home

Small communities that don't welcome diverse outsiders and can't seem to change how they always do things is the reason these communities continue to struggle. Instead of stepping outside the box they have locked themselves in and now they aren't happy and want to blame the Westside of the state.

1. Outsiders don’t move to Rural areas in the first place because little opportunity. 2. The East has little political voices in governments and cities are imposing their rules onto them. Such as higher taxes and gun control, which are needed in cities, but unneeded for rural areas. 3. East Oregon is more economically similar with Idaho than the Oregon cities.

Also the Western Oregon cities are voting climate initiatives that hurt the small East Oregon farms and boosting corporate. It’s fair to blame the West for their economic problems when they are causing them. Or so I’ve been told by an Oregon farmer.

The Carolina's were initially a state named "Carolana", however due to disputes in government politics, they divided into North Carolina and South Carolina. Since this has happened in the past, the people spoke and a change was made, I see no reason why Greater Idaho or Idagon should become a reality.
