Sounds like good fun the iconic series. Just simple good fun racing without all the technicalities and hassle.

Great idea, guess this is much easier and cheaper for newcomers than the crazy expensive touring cars we run
@PopalongRC3 жыл бұрын
Only problem with that logic is that some drivers have 30yrs race experience and they know how to get every last bit of performance out of these cars hahahaha

It is great intro into rc though

@@PopalongRC it’s the same for us. When we started racing 2 years ago we were a lot slower than the pro drivers, we have gotten a lot faster and is no longer the slowest at competitions but squeezing the last speed out of the cars to win is really difficult 🤪

@@PopalongRC I ran the Tamiya Impreza shell, optional allowed wing then the allowed Stock upgrades, bearings, hexes, cheap Yeah racing oil shocks, alu shaft and motor mount. Broxtowe you probably want 55/25 gearing then 55/26 or 27 at stafford/west london, use a fan on the motor. I ran softer rear tyres due to the lack of rear end stability as you can't run the toe in rear uprights in Stock

Awesome thanks we are running indoors at the moment so will definitely be needing to change gearing when we venture outside.

ok now I finally get it. This is your almost version of the Tamiya Championship Series aka TCS. Except if you win your qualifying class @ Nationals in San Diego, no trip to Japan to race there. Only rule differences are everything must be Tamiya, except bearings & radio & transponder + motor in some classes. Only 3 pre-announced classes win the free trip to Japan to race. As you don't quite have the same tt01 rules I'd highly recommend weight saving Aluminum or Titanium Phillips head screws. My only beef + steering setup w/tt01 racing. We have to run Tamiya kit specific rims & tires as well. Looks good but suck on track. Oil sh9cks, Alum shaft are musts + if NIMH matched packs. M03 class is pure fun. I miss my F103. Beautiful cars + setup. IMHO the tt01-2 is a car my then 14yo son could build & setup in an afternoon by himself. I'm trying to get across the pond again by Summer. Definitely would attend! Love the format of the races! Besides tires & shocks, very level & budget minded. I'm trying to 8magine a 17T Mini. Mini TCS here is limited to Tamiya can motors last I read. At any track but Nat's/Tamiya USA HQ track, imho the stock siover can 27T is fast enough as shop tracks are so small & no grip/riction roll as Tamiya tires have large sidewalls. Excess CA on sidewalls doesn't pass tech. Lovely race series. Shocked you don't have TCS. Appreciate the replies but not necessary. I know I write too much. 1 Undergrad degree in Writing not Lit. 😃😃😃 & I'm tapping on a phablet thus the mistakes. My fave Oxford Ph.D. Professor (RIP) would hate my writing now. Great explanation vid!

Tyres make a massive difference to the performance of these cars … running same as the touring cars so grip is spot on …

I've signed up to have a pop at Iconic at WLRC ...running the m03. Took it out for the first time today. Front wheel drive, slicks and on a wet track....comical is one of many adjectives I'd use hahahaha. Looking forward to seeing how your 01e build goes. Good luck gents and see ya trackside in due course 👍😎
