The more keto I do the more I crave meat and never did before . Got rid of the carbs and I love steak , butter , sausage all grass fed pasture raised organic praise God ! Certain vegetables always upset my stomach and even grass fed milk but I’m fine with good cheese ..... weight is falling off after 20 years of hormone imbalance misery and didn’t know how to find my way out ! You provided the light I needed to see the way out of all that misery . My precious mom died six years ago from the results of diabetes and poor medical care and she was always looking for answers always willing to try anything breaks my heart that I didn’t have this information then it just didn’t come in my scope I know she’s so proud of me now and I’ve helped my dad through this to reverse 20 years of diabetes and in two weeks I had him off all insulin completely and he took four shots a day and he turned 77 in May you’ve saved my whole families life and I am forever grateful

I stalled on Keto for years. Couldn't get below 250 pounds. I was recently fascinated by the research coming out showing that Linoleic acid is one of the main driving factors of keeping us insulin resistant. Despite me maintaining my weight, my bloodwork showed that I was still very metabolically unhealthy. I decided to go carnivore, cut out linloeic acid completely (only beef) and consume more stearic acid. (beef suet, cacao butter) and within 2 weeks I busted through the plateau I'd been stuck on for years and am down to 243. This information may have saved my life I think.

@@izuki1245 On carnivore diet, I couldn't lose weight until I stopped eating cheese and stopped drinking heavy whipping cream. Immediately after I stopped all dairy, I lost 12 pounds in one week. I don't think this has anything to do with the fat content of dairy. I believe that the dairy is extremely inflammatory for some people (People like me, who have moderate lactose intolerance). The bulging flesh we call "fat" may actually be caused by inflammation and water retention at the cellular level.

That's great ! How about an update 5 months later ? It is almost funny to call it a "diet" because it should just be the normal eating habits of humans, while "diet" has come to mean something short-term to lose weight or reach a goal and then return to a "regular" diet. It is crazy to think that zookeepers and pet owners feed their animals a healthier diet than 95% of people today feed themselves.

I am starting my 7th week on the Carnivore Diet. I gave myself a cheat day once I'd done 6 weeks - to be honest it gave me no pleasure at all. It seems I no longer crave Carbs or Sugars, and believe me I loved my chocolate and starchy foods; not anymore. I'm now exercising. I did not exercise at all for the first 4 weeks, to see if the diet worked. And it did, big time! Thank you.

Dadeda: I haven’t had a “cheat” day in two years. Planned to have dressing and cranberry sauce with my first carnivore Christmas dinner. Put a bit (only took a tablespoon as I didn’t want to stray too far) in my mouth and pushed the rest to the side uneaten. Didn’t do a thing for me by that time (8 months in). The key lime pie currently residing in my kitchen doesn’t even tempt me. Guess “sweet” has forgotten my name.

I have pretty much to same story but over a longer period of time. On Thanksgiving I only ate turkey, turkey gravy, some vegetables, some salad with vinegar and olive oil. NO stuffing, no cranberry sauce, no potatoes, no desserts whatsoever. The greatest part is I didn't even want it. I did not desire it or craved it. Not even my biggest downfall, ice cream. You can't make this stuff up. It really works. After about 18 months or so I feel younger, have more energy, my blood pressure is down with BP medication doses cut in half. My arthritis is almost completely gone, and best of all less severe gout attacks which come much less often.

@@joette3477 ... Yeah, I am not a doctor or qualified to give health advice, but in my case, I just eat a few times a day usually prioritizing protein and adding vegetables and fruits here and there. I just eat sources of protein that I enjoy. And I like leaner cuts of meats rather than the fattier cuts. Although beef is king as far as I am concerned, I don't necessarily need to eat it at every meal. Lately we have been eating a lot of elk that I harvested last year.

I found that ketovore diet works best for me. I found that an occasional avocado, pumpkin seeds, broccoli every few days helps me to get past fatloss plateaus and keeps my fasting glucose in the 70-80s. When I was full carnivore my fasting glucose would be in the 90-100s. When I was keto the carb creep was bad. I would end up eating more carbs than I was supposed to.

I went 95% carnivore OMAD for the month of October. Feeling great. The first thing I noticed was the lighter color of my life long allergy under eye bags! Cutting most dairy, cruciferous, and nuts from when I was keto seems to have done what decades of creams couldn’t. I had no choice but to eat carb and veggie heavy “light” salads at a ladies luncheon over the weekend and there was church social the next day too. This morning the dark bags were back which is proof enough for me that ketovore is the eating plan for me. I will have to work on making a potluck proof dish that’s convenient.

Our grocery stores are getting in whole pork loin, whole brisket-ie:25 lbs or more, large pieces of pork belly and the price per pound is lower but difficult for some to afford in a large piece or store it in small fridge freezer. The stores don’t have much for organ meats and I can’t find any suet for the past few years. Have to start going to a butcher, which can be hard for people as well. Prices higher and located far from our grocers

I need to get back onto the Carnivore diet, I lost so much weight and felt amazing, health was great, mental and physical performance was the best it has ever been. Did it for 5 months then I "cheated" on a holiday, which got out of hand, then some real hardships caused by covid and other external factors left me depressed/stressed and back addicted to sugar. I really feel like a drug addict that relapsed. Undid 5 months of good living with 1 month of pizza delivery on demand.

Found Dr. Berry’s videos about the carnivore thanks to a friend of mine who did carnivore for quite a while and raved about her results. I’m on carnivore now and I think after a couple of months I’ll switch to ketovore permanently to maintain.

Being on keto for a long time, I naturally moved to ketovore. I found that I craved meat only with just light seasoning. Hamburger with just a teaspoon of sugar free bbq sauce mixed in, Chicken with onion and garlic seasonings on top, Changed to blending butter in my coffee instead of cream (so delicious!) I still have a little cream, cheese and an avocado a few times a week ... I cant wait till I naturally move to entire carnivore but I know my cravings will let me know when Im ready.

I've been eating mostly meat (and eggs, fish, etc.) with an avocado once a day (magnesium and potassium) and a cruciferous vegetable (gut biome) once a day. Trying to keep it grass-fed and wild-caught to bring my inflammation down, and it's working. I also take some supplements (particularly anti-inflammatory and minerals), which I'm tapering off, and have spices on meats. Having been keto for quite a while, I don't go out of my way to add fat, but I usually eat fatty meats. My a1c has run between 4.8 and 5.4, usually 5.0 or 5.1, for the last two years.

it would be nice to receive a response from you. I previously asked what foods are on this diet. Currently eating cabbage for kidney health, already eat bacon & eggs, grape tomatoes, cucumber & tomato salad -Italian dressing with EVOO. Fish-salmon, tuna, sardines, asparagus, almonds, butter, peanuts-dry roast-no salt added, use kosher & pink Himalayan salt in grinders, black pepper, added a few other spices that I like. What portion sizes should I be eating especially since I have uric acid in the blood? Since eating more fish, limiting most vegies, and berries, my blood sugar is under 110, have even limited taking Glimepiride and Januvia based on sugar levels when I check them 3-5 times a day. Thank you

I will say this, don't cheat on the keto sweets. In my experience, the keto sweets just make you crave sugar. It will be rough cutting sugar (including stevia and things like that) completely out for the first couple weeks, but then your sugar craving goes away. I have tried cheat days, and it works for a while until you start making excuses to extend the cheat days, your body will reattach to the sugar and carb addiction, and on a weak moment when your having a bad day, you're more likely to give in. Just be miserable for the first couple weeks and then you will reduce the cravings and eat healthy with almost no temptation to cheat. You start looking forward to that bottle of water instead missing the soda. You start to enjoy your meat omelette instead of wishing you had pancakes with syrup. Next thing you know, you are a consistent healthy eater without even having to try hard.

If you're suffering from some type of inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's Disease, then the ketovore diet is ideal because going full carnivore WILL cause you to experience bile acid malabsorption which will then lead to bile acid diarrhea. The low-carb vegetables (e.g. cabbage, broccoli, kale, spinach, green beans) that you'll be consuming on this diet will act as bile acid binders to prevent any bile acid malabsorption and subsequent bile acid diarrhea. I've personally been down this path and the diarrhea is no joke because an inflamed and sore anus is one of the most uncomfortable sensations in the world. You can always go full carnivore once your IBD has healed and this might take up to a year or two if you're consistent in your efforts.

Hi Dr. Berry! Watching this in 2022 and was wondering . . . Have you and your family started prepping for hard times ahead? And would you consider doing a video on how that looks with a Ketovore/Carnivore houshold pantry?? I haven‘t seen any of these preppers really specializing on Low Carb canned or jarred or dry goods. Mostly they have exactly 90% highly processed carby and sugery foods: cereals, protein bars, brownie-mix, rice, pasta, flour, sugar, fruitsalad in heavy syrup, etc. We personally DO NOT have access to any „Keto-Snacks“ sadly, not even porkrinds. We live in Europe, but have adapted well to a whole fresh foods approach to Keto and switch back and forth to Ketovore (with less veggies; more meat, eggs, fish) That would be awesome, if you could just show us how your family is stocking up. Cheers from Switzerland (btw we‘re not fans of the w e f /w h o) No way 😉 Power of the People is much more powerful than the current people in power. Stay strong and healthy!

1) Growing your own vegetables 2) Having your own free ranging chickens if possible so you have supply of eggs and meat. You could even get a couple of goats and sheep, a cow, a couple of pigs - if you have the space for them. This will supply with meat, milk, cheese, bones for soups, and if you want to go all the way, they'll provide hides for warmth. If you don't have the possibility for your own vegetablegarden and keeping animals, you can buy vegetables and ferment them with salt, which is both healthy and great within keto lifestyle. More or less all vegetables can be fermented. You can also buy quality cuts of meat and all meats can be dehydrated, canned, frozen, (if you wrap them up properly they keep a lot longer in the freezer), and/or salted. Stock up on things like coffee, tea, oliveoil, coconutoil, salt, pepper, and stuff that has a long shelflife, like dried beans, onions, peppers etc. From there you can use your imagination.

I was thinking about the same thing. Everything since I have discovered carnivore a few months ago I have a mew perspective about how I plan to prep. Especially since I do not have access to my own garden. It really did concern me that a lot of preppers have a bunch of highly processed foods and juices. The last thing I want to is be living in hard times and also suffering from high blood pressure, cavities, and diabetes. I have decided I am going to put little more priority on canned meats like salmon and chicken they are pretty prices. Also I have learned about beef tallow and bacon fat. Never used to save them before. Now I love saving the bacon fat. You can even freeze it. If ypur power goes out still has long shelf life. You can reduce and stretch your meals and add a little fat to keep you satiated. Even feed some to your pets.

After 27 months, I reached my first goal! I've been doing keto /carnivore for about 6+ months. I dont like veggies, so this was not a problem. I was on a plateau for over 6 months. To begin losing again, I had to cut my diet soda addiction, again, eliminate cheese, temporarily and quedt bars- watch all carbs. Got a part time job that forces me to move/walk 5 hours 5 days a week. No eating program is easy since I'm a sugar addict. I'm still a type 2 diabetic, really more insulin resistant than a full blown diabetic since my a1c is 5 3. I earned this disease. 30 years eating high carb, high sugar. I have 7 pds to go for my final goal weight. In a few weeks, I'll get really strict again and lean more carnivore to move the scale. Im 63 with hashimoto's so losing weight is a challenge but can be done. Btw, I ask my doctor for specific blood tests every 3-4 months. Thanks Dr Berry. One documentary that impressed me quite a bit was The Perfect Human Diet. It reported the way humans ate from the time when Neanderthals ate and before that to the present based on the latest anthropology findings, and by the way there are no findings of vegans or much vegetarians if at all. But I am even more impressed about the Carnivore diet and am trying it for at least the next 30 days. My grandmother used to talk about me eating a whole pound of bacon one time just to see if I would eat it. I did and loved every bit of it. I could do without grains but my weakness is sweets. But I'm taking the plunge into Carnivore and see if I can enjoy being on the Carnivore diet. I'm reading more and more about it everyday and intrigued that some vegans have switched to the Carnivore diet. My brother is vegan or was for many years. Not sure if he still is or not.

Dr Berry, I would like to see you talk more about the several good apps available to track your intake of foods and their nutritional values. Personally, I use Carb Manager. There's a free version that works great. I have no affiliation with the app whatsoever. While I'm making my meals, I'm already adding the foods to the app either by selecting my favorite foods from my list, searching the database, or simply by scanning the package barcode. I set the app to LCHF and to maintain my current weight. Thus, it says that I should be consuming 51g of carbs, 1710 calories, etc. It's a yardstick that I monitor when deciding what foods to have in a day. If I'm approaching my limit of carbs (or calories) for the day, I can better decide what kind of meal to eat. Of course, I go over at times, but I can then go back to the app and see what foods caused the most carbs/calories that day. In addition to the doctors and research people I regularly listen to on You Tube, this is another tool to keep me grounded in staying as healthy as I can. I've always been rather skinny/lean for most of my adult life. I served on a submarine in the Navy and could get into places you wouldn't believe a human could fit! However, at 66 I was at 175, 36" waist and climbing and my labs were starting to concern me. For the last two years , I've cut out sugar, lowered my carbs as much as possible and raised my intake of healthy fats. Now, at 68 (5'9") I'm holding at 150, almost no belly fat (34" waist) and my labs have literally normalized for a guy my age. Thanks to you and others, I'll stay that way and be healthier for it!

I'm eating beef liver daily for copper and eggs, too (zinc). All along, I planned to use carnivore as an elimination diet....just don't want my chronic back pain to return. I also eat a few berries from time to time. I'm hooked on bacon fat and butter.

I stalled losing weight after about a year on keto (lost 64 pounds). I started eating Carnivore, but only 2 days a week. The rest of the week it was keto but I kept carbs at 15 - 20gms or below. (Net carbs without counting my three or four cups of coffee per day.) I did OMAD once or twice a month. I have broken through the stall and now I am losing more weight. (about 1/2 to 1 pound a week.)

@@EastOrlandoFlorida thanks , any time I looked on the internet for a keto doctor here it would just show one in lake Mary but would also show him as trying to sell “keto” products. I’m not cool with that.

well then..... Been on KETO since Nov.... (5 months now) Lost a bunch BUT... stuck at 290. (Topped out at 370, that's long gone.) But can't get past the 290 mark. This sounds interesting. Growing up I LOVED meat, but was only given small portions and always told eat the pile of veggies. Not to mention the pasta, bread, etc... Grain is off my menu now but veg? I've been putting in raised beds to GROW MORE. I don't think I want to totally let go all my veg. But sure like the idea that meat is not the enemy here. So.... more meat. Not ready to totally shed veggies though. (And I'm sure tomatoes aren't perfect keto food, technically a fruit but still "low" in sugar, so not giving up my favorite crop.) Not to mention beans, peas, garlic, onions, ginger, and peppers.... LOVE um peppers. Pickled beats, and well... pickles. Occasionally carrots, yea I know those have sugar, don't eat them often. But I sure can put more meat on the plate and see how that goes. OH and periodic fasting, that helps too. KETOVORE.... so not totally CARNovore, Hmmmm.

@@GeauxCarnivore Yea, I do, and it does drop the scale a tad, but then I can eat 5 peanuts and gain 10 lbs. Grrrrrrrr. BUT I LOVE this diet. This is a life long change for sure. Eating out gets interesting. You should see the look when I order a burger and say hold the bun. lol.

I was at a stall myself stuck at 225 doing keto,i gave carnivore a try and three weeks in im down to 216 it got me over that plateau, i might not do carnivore forever but the OMAD protocol, and carnivore got me over that hump, its just another tool in my belt to get me where i want to be👍
