Most of players from Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa have been part of the IPL for many years now. Sub Continent pitches, climate, travelling etc. are not alien to them anymore. They have players best suited for those conditions. To an extent India have lost the home advantage but every team gets an equal chance to win there now.

Giving too much priority to test cricket or in other words, giving absolutely no importance to Odi cricket by England has almost destroyed the confidence of Joe Root "the odi batter".I understand giving him rest from Odis before a very big test series but he has been rested from almost 80% of the Odis after 2019 World Cup for no real reason otherwise his record in One day cricket is as good as his test record but playing no One day cricket has resulted in him having scores of a no. 11 in his last 7 to 8 Odis except an 80 odd vs South Africa last year.

I think thats what sets apart other cricketing nations from India. Indians are way too focused on stats and records that they dont have a clear direction in which to go in any format. That is the biggest reason they struggle in crucial matches in Icc tournaments. they are way too focused on Virats and Rohits to perform that if anything doesnt go their way, they crumble under pressure. Other cricketing nations are willing to take tough decisions in order for a long term goal for the team instead of focusing on individual players. Steve Smith and Joe Root are prime examples. That is why England and Australia have won world cups recently while India is still trying to figure out a style of play that caters to their star players.
