4:55 I have two doubts 1)Does the rod gain angular acceleration alpha at this instant immediately after cutting of the string? if yes then wouldn't it give the rod cm an acceleration in the horizontal component too? 2) how exactly does the point A get acceleration? I'm unable to figure out the forces which are causing its acceleration
@PHYSICSSIRJEE Жыл бұрын
1) alpha is generated immediately due to torque. a cm is vertical only as net external force is the only thing responsible for cm acc. INTERNAL forces don't matter 2) The neighbourhood of part of point A of the rod pushes and also applies twist forces to generate acceleration for any point like A. The acceleration of A and value of alpha in turn should ensure that a cm is not horizontal

4:36 Sir why can't acceleration have an upward component? I have seen the same question in books but no explaination give...pls clarify sir🙏
@PHYSICSSIRJEE10 ай бұрын
The end point of the thread can have acceleration along the thread while rotating, the value is centripetal= Lw^2 ... When omega =0 , in spl case like here at 4:36 , that acceleration of end = 0 in upward direction

@satwik12683 жыл бұрын
Love these videos! 7:08 I think the answer of 1st is b) but still I'm confused as to why can't we say that the body rotate about the space point just below the ICR(as both Vel of ICR and the space point = 0 so at that instant the velocity of all points of body about space point will be as same as about ICR and if the body rotates about ICR then it should rotate about space point too at that instant!) Maybe b) is wrong to begin with.

1-(a) , 2 - 0 ? As initial angular velocity is zero So if ICR would have an acceleration in any one particular direction then both origin and com can't have there acceleration in horizontal and vertical direction respectively , while I guess string point on (0,b/2) have a acceleration proving that it's not a material point
@AryanYadav-rh8iy3 жыл бұрын
Its most likely material point of rod coinciding on string, here just the case is that the acc of IOR coming zero makes us believe its space point , but its not bc at a later moment IOR will get acc while space point all points have zero acc .

Sir can you please give solution to this JEE Mains 2011 question : "The specific heat capacity of a metal at low temperature (T) is given as Cp (kJ K-1kg-1) = 32(T/400)^3. A 100 g vessel of this metal is to be cooled from 20 K to 4 K by a special refrigerator operating at room temperature (27°C). The amount of work required to cool the vessel is (a) equal to 0.002 kJ (b) greater than 0.148 kJ (c) between 0.148 kJ and 0.028 kJ (d) less than 0.028 kJ" I'm really confused with this question.
