What Is The Most OP Build For Raphael in Fire Emblem Three Hopes?

I really like this character but he ended up being pretty bad for me in Three houses. I just wish you could run more than 4 characters in this game. It was hard for me to put him on the field when I already had Claude, Hilda, and Marianne.

It was pretty hard for me to go wrong with Raphael. His speed was garbage but his strength was through the roof and Fierce Iron fist is honestly better than a gauntlet double. He was under leveled and still doing fine on the final map. Although this was back before Maddening was even available.

Raphael is only a fighter to begin with because he realized that it's the occupation he's best at. In other words he was already planning on punching things as a career to begin with.

I think it is nice for a change to have a character whose "arc" is essentialy completed. That is what i like about Raphael. He is this big guy, who refuses to let him be defined by his tragedy and makes the most out of it. Even when he finds out, what happened, he is just: "Nice to know, but past is past."

@@rhettmitchell Claude's character arc in Hopes is to learn to trust his subordinates as well as their abilities to then gain their trust, it's not completed from the start. Raphael is a more static character which isn't necessarily bad although I did find him a bit one-note.

It is worth bringing up class mechanics with this build- the Warmaster Class action also applies a buff to damage right after use, and stacks up to 3 times for its 3 charges. You can use this after a strong attack for more buff per buff.

I'll definitely try it with Raphael! I ended up giving the gauntlets to Lorentz because he can actually survive at 1 HP and make use of the gauntlet's main feature and it's pretty much the only gauntlet build I have that can compete with other classes but I will try a more balanced build with Raphae!

Wanna use vajra mushti on jeritza since he has counter attack and quick riposte. Gonna turn him to a voodoo doll that gets stronger with more hp lost. EDIT: Also added lifeforce and Lorenz's rondo of roses personal skill. Now he's always on the verge of death knight. EDIT: Counter attack and quick riposte doesn't stack. Also rondo doesn't.

This game made me a fan of Raphael! Unfortunately did not use him much due to the Goneril siblings being so absurdly strong. I'll try this build next chance I have though. Hoping Dedue is next, I think he's a unit full of pros and cons, starts off incredibly powerful and reliable, but I started to realize his personal skills became kind of a hinderance when stacked up next to other units like Hubert, Hilda, Lorenz, and Sylvain.

The best of what’s available for Raphael. Not sure if it’s just me but Gauntlets just seem really REALLY underwhelming in this game. They felt super strong in FE3H but worthless in FEW3H.

Well I do think there lacking in certain areas, like its hard to get a good weapon for them, the relics aren't super good, and they only have so many good abilities. But the class itself as far as how it plays is quite good, I love using war masters, I just don't think there are a lot of characters that can use it properly.

I’d agree with BRG. I think the class is one of the most fun to play, and I think they have a place at least in new games since they’re the counters to mages which you run into a lot. But yeah they only really excel on characters that make use of a high combo count and/or just have good abilities for it in general. (Another limiting factor is that they’re a class that requires a relic and crest to get an effective vs all combat art.)
