When I cannot say what is the right side I use pieces of tape ( or bright painter's tape) on each and every piece I cut. Sometimes the right-wrong side shows up after you finish sewing the garment!

I get many of my fabrics that are large used off cuts from dressmakers leftovers so I never see it in the shop... so I have to stay consistent in my side choosing as there are no indications as most are plain fabrics and same on both sides

Thanks for the info! BTW: it sounds like you are saying "salvage" but it is "selvedge" LOL

The whole thing is ridiculous!! Manufacturers should mark right and wrong side on the selvedge, you shouldn't have to guess like this. Thanks for the video though

Did I miss the part about chiffon? How do you tell the right side of chiffon?
@ProfessorPincushion5 жыл бұрын
For plain, chiffon, you really can't. I just pick a side and do my best to stay consistent.
