He also said 7 year olds can be betrothed. While he answers many important answers of our faith, he isn’t the official voice of the church. Each individual has their own personal interpretation of things… and his views on the death penalty happen to be interpreted differently than the rest of the church. Also, just war can’t exist in today’s world because modern weapons of war are created for mass indiscriminate killing which blatantly goes against the ethic of just war.

You’re antiabortion/anti euthanasia, and I wholeheartedly agree. But when it comes to everything else most pro lifers are quiet or say it’s not their problem. What do I mean? Good health care for the unwanted child as well as schools, housing, good foods and daycare. For the elderly, retirement payments that allow them to live and not barely hang on. Retirement facilities that are livable. And end of life care that isn’t a dumping ground. Talk about that and the conservative catholic part quickly retreats and all the fiscal conservatives suddenly appear.

Mari says we start with abortion, but I think it needs to start at the root of the problem. How did person X get pregnant. If it wasn't by her choice, it's case closed. People who argue against abortion should not have a vote. God has a plan for every one of us, and we should learn to live with whatever choices we make. If you are hurting multiple people for your own spot in heaven, what is the point?
