Lol, that's my first time seeing the pilot episode, and it is one of the craziest weirdest episodes I've seen. I'm so hyped to see your reaction to this show, this is one of my favorite shows. This show has some of the craziest lore. All the seemingly random stuff actually has a reason and this show surprisingly keeps it's continuity throughout it all. You're intuition was spot on with the ice king being angry about not having puss. You're also not too far off when you said they probably made this show using medicines like acid; if you pay attention, sometimes you'll find references to DMT, the pineal gland, and Dextromethorophen (Robitussin). I hope the video goes well, I know that NuxTakus' reactions to this aren't making money, because they get copyrighted.

The actual Adventure Time series is NOTHING like this. This pilot was created for Nickelodeon while the actual official show ended up going to Cartoon Network and becoming basically one of the best shows ever with multiple side series and continuations as recently as last year. Adventure Time is one of the most crazily lore-heavy, gut-wrenching, saddest and funniest cartoons with some of the most intimidating villains to be created. The pilot was so weird and the actual series is so strange because the creator of it worked on another CN show, The Misadventures of Flapjack along with other people who made other incredibly iconic shows like Gravity Falls, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Infinity Train, OK KO, Amphibia and Owl House. The creator of Flapjack essentially inadvertently created the Avengers of the best children's cartoons of all time without realizing it.

adventure time came out right when i was 10. I was the target audience so i remember watching the first few seasons. It's good and the humor of the show is actually funny. But down the line, after i stopped watching the show started to take itself too seriously and it became an action drama which i hate. I mean it's ok to have some drama in your cartoon but at the end of the day it should stay lighthearted.
