All super successful bands have that 1 song that seems to elevate them from good to mega ... And many of those songs all have a deeper meaning.... Like you've said before, these bands all seem to end up as an establishment mouthpiece in some way ... Very interesting Hugo ...your work is so good still ...

@@dotd4080 That's not true. Freddie made it very clear throughout his life who he served, and it wasn't the God of the Bible. Even the photo Hugo displays clearly depicts Freddie's allegiance. The song was not written in any way for -- nor would it be used by -- the God of the Bible when it signifies the loss of a human soul to the father of lies. Craft means an activity involving skill in making things by hand. Anyone can be skilled in creating or making many beautiful things, just as a carpenter can use his craft to build a beautiful chair, so can a wordsmith be 'crafty' in their use of words to deceive people. \We shouldn't look at the word craft, and think it is only associated with something dark and evil.

Freddie and his family were very religious. He was brought up in the Zoroastrian faith in Zanzibar and went to a religious boarding school far away from home at a very young age. I think Hugo is right on target that BR references religion and FM’s inner struggle to cope with what he probably had done to achieve such a high level of fame and fortune. Where I differ with Hugo is, even tho he says ‘nothing really matters’, I feel he does care and feels guilty but it’s the only way he can go on with his life and cope with what he has done and not go crazy.
@HugoTalks7 күн бұрын
This song is bigger than Freddie Mercury, I don't believe this song is about him, its showing the mindset of the fallen at the end of time. "Nothing really matters" refers to spiritual apathy-a complete lack of concern for oneself and others, in other words, nihilism (the belief that life is meaningless). Nihilism teaches that God does not exist or that He is dead. Nihilism says there is no higher purpose in life, that life is simply futile. This is exactly what the great falling away is at the end of time, Apostasy (Abandonment of belief in God). This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths: 'Where is the good way?' Then walk in it. This song illustrates what happens when you don't and as that it serves as a warning to those who understand what it is about.

Hi Hugo, interesting stuff to think about. Regarding Jesus being hidden in the song, our God definitely can use anyone He wants to do anything He wants, and does. But I don't suppose He would be that secretive about putting Jesus in the song, since He wants everyone to know about Him and is very clear throughout scripture in general with what He wants to say. Also, as you've said yourself before, this song is very popular and Satan is the god of this world. God allows him to have some control over the world for a short time, which we are currently in. I'm not sure the song would be as popular if it had even a hidden message about Jesus in it, since Satan hates Him. (This is all said with much love, btw. Tone can be so hard to get across in text form)
@HugoTalks6 күн бұрын
On the subject of 'secretive' Take note that Jesus used parables for a reason. Jesus taught in parables to keep some people from understanding what he was teaching. Jesus' use of parables served to divide his listeners into two groups: his disciples, and everyone else. His disciples would be able to learn from them. But to those who were not his disciples, their meaning was obscure.

Hb.9:27, 'Just as it is appointed for people to die once, and after this comes judgment...' the Bible doesn't say, after this comes eternal hell of desembodied immortal spirits (pagan doctrine). The dead is dead and not conscious (as showed in the Bible)! The next thing ppl will face when they are resurrected is judgment. In judgment you'll give an account of everything you've done. Gehenna (translated 'hell') means judgement, not the pagan dante's hell doctrine. Being thrown into the '"gehenna fire' means to face the judgment fires of God. If only people studied the paganism of this literal fire hell doctrine (Roman Catholicism had a major role in disseminating), God's judgement and His laws, proclaimed since the OT, wouldn't be so diminished. By God's law someone who has suffered injustice (a victim) must receive restitution. Jesus said that all law will be fulfilled,not only the prophetic aspects of it concerning His reign, but applied to every single person who ever lived. This song shows this because it will bring fear to people. They'll know they must give an account. If that was not important, people wouldn't have to respond for their actions (Hb.9:27) and God's entire law (now Christ's law) would be completely annulled.

There's others ways the lyrics could be interpreted, you are biased towards the Bible. Yeah I know there's a huge number of celebs that show Satanic symbolism Etc, but these lyrics are in my opinion unrelated and are telling a tragic story. "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy. Caught in the landslide, No escape from reality." is feeling this can't be real because of what terrible things have happened, it's feels like a nightmare, he just killed a man, life had just begun, but now he's gone and thrown it all away. If he's not back again this time tomorrow, "Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.", that is apathy when you feel at rock bottom.
@HugoTalks7 күн бұрын
Your way of looking at it, is actually reading more into it, while I'm literally talking about what the song describes. It is literally describing a man who pleads to Galileo (man from galilee) = Jesus, to save him from the devil and damnation. He is in that predicament because he commited a sin (killed a man). The phrase Galileo Figaro Magnifico is translated from latin as, “Magnify the Galilean's image”. Listening to stories from people in the studio when this song was made, it sounds like he didn't know this, and used the term Galileo because it just sounded right to him at the time. I take this phrase Galileo Figaro Magnifico to mean that he feels the only way to escape his horrible predicament is to magnify Jesus Christ and ask for his help. And this makes perfect sense within the context of the song. As scripture tells you only Jesus can save you.

9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. Matthew 13:9-16

It’s very hard but historical true and remember the Creator above the world and universe as said I am a jealous God Creator…..believe or not of arrogance…without forgiveness no matter….what we make are choices and not mistakes children make mistakes…..when you say you born again wash away my corrupted sins that means you can not go back to your old selfishness ways of the nation like pagan holidays and so on….the Creator is not looking for perfection if he wanted that he would’ve made us all perfect period…but do not judge either but do not practice the ways of the nation….it’s pretty simple the truth is stranger than fiction

How interesting that you should do a critique on this woeful song. I always loathed this record, group and the lead singer for what he stood for, I still do. Radio1 on Bank Holidays would often do 101 greatest No1's of all time, invariably it would be this record, I wasn't a true follower of God back in the eights but always believed in Jesus Christ, Since becoming a true believer and follower of the KJV (1611) and Church goer Sovereign Grace Reformed Church in Tiverton and now bon again, I have recently cleared out much of my old cd collection, since becoming a Christian I have stopped listing to most of them.

Mama Mia is calling out to the ‘virgin’ Mary
@HugoTalks7 күн бұрын
Mama Mia has nothing to do with calling out to Mary, you don't need to call out to Mary, It is Jesus you need to call (pray) to. Jesus is the great intercessor and we prayed to him as the great intercessor to reach God. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to pray to Mary. If it's not in the Bible, we should not believe it. The expression "mamma mia" in Italian translates to "mom/mum mine/my" in English it is used to to express surprise, shock, or exasperation. It is the equivalent of “oh my God!”. There are several other common expressions you can use, like: Oh mio dio! Oddio! Santo cielo! Santo Dio! Dio santo! "Oh cielo!" - This means "Oh heaven!" and is used to express astonishment.

Great interesting show, love looking again at music since my eyes have been opened .. my recent rediscovery is the Sound of Silence .. to me it is Biblical, would be interested in what you think !
@HugoTalks8 күн бұрын
Yeah that is another one. It is biblical “No one dared disturb the sound of silence” meaning that no one dared to say what they truly meant in favor of following the (beast) norms of what they were supposed to say. Silence like a cancer grows "Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never share " Sounds like the false prophet media/Internet/Social Media, loads of talk, but nobody saying anything that really matters. "And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made" Worshiping the beast, false prophet media.

Bit of a stretch attributing this song to a warning from God ….
@HugoTalks7 күн бұрын
Can you not stretch yourself into giving an explanation? There is no stretching here, the song is literally telling you describing to you about a man who commits sin, kills a man, is judged after death, is told the devil has a demon waiting for him and pleads tp Jesus to save him. That is what the song is literally about, and its the most famous song of the last 50 years.

Mate. Theres a Freddie vid of him on stage in his leotards yelling out to the crowd "We need a one world government"!!! The last time i called in to you i thought great hes started on his Christian journey. Now your looking for signs from God in queen songs??? God has nothing to do with anything going on, on this earth. He will enter in to clean up this mess at the appropriate time. This is mans failed rulership and our only connection to him is by faith in Jesus Christ Those without faith will be cleaned up with the mess. So please Hugo, there are no secret messages from God but our faith is a shield against the perverts sending embedded messages in the entertainment industry who have their share in running the world. Snap out of it bro !!!😁😇
@HugoTalks5 күн бұрын
Sorry but saying "God has nothing to do with anything going on on this earth" really renders anything you say "null and void". There is nothing secret in this song. Its as obvious as they come. The Bible teaches that God's sovereignty is an essential aspect of who he is, that he has supreme authority and absolute power over all things. And yes he is very much active. Scripture says, God works “all things according to the counsel of his will” (Ephesians 1:11) (Jeremiah 23 23-24) 23 "I am a God who is everywhere and not in one place only. 24 "No one can hide where I cannot see them. Do you not know that I am everywhere in heaven and on earth?" So scripture says God is everywhere in heaven and earth. But YOU say "God has nothing to do with anything going on on this earth". dear oh dear........
