Why are "Western" powers uncomfortable with what the Turks have achieved in Africa? BBC should seek an answer to this first. Turkey's formula is clear, simple and fair. Win - Win! Example? Let's say our partners need a Airport, O.K No Problem. Materials and manpower must be met from local sources. If local resources are insufficient, an agreement should be made with local subcontract companies for export and material supply. Even though that product is imported from Turkey, the profit from imports should belong to local firms. Not only money, but also experience and on-the-job training should be shared. Thus, locally trained manpower should be obtained for subsequent projects. So to speak, these people must learn not only to cook fish, but also to catch that fish. Because we always say "There must be justice!" Justice is the basis of everything. This is the difference between Imperialist and Colonialist Westerners and Turks... "Justice"

Turkey's approach to Africa is based on win-win and mutual benefit. This differs greatly from the Western colonial powers' approach, which looked down on Africa and viewed it merely as a resource for exploitation. I know many brilliant Turkish young men graduated from best universities and they chose to be a teacher in Turkish schools in Africa with very humble income... Those schools were opened much before Erdoğan coming to power

One thing to mention as a Turkish citizen, Friendly sentiments towards Africa is found in the hearts of almost all Turkish people especially with religious ones. It is not fair to give all credits to Erdoğan. That Africa initiative was prepared by Abdullah Gül that when he was Foreign Minister, Also the Turkish schools were opened in Africa a decade before Erdoğan coming to power. African Brothers should not be thankful just to Erdoğan instead thankful to Allah almighty. He is the One who put this nice feelings to our hearts.

The West comes to Africa to lecture on things that are foriegn to Africans, while other powers come with more essential things like infrastructure projects and things which locals can relate to without showing any signs of intervention, patronization or dictation.

its pleasing to watch an unbiased video regarding Turkiye and Africa, we don't expect non muslims to understand fully the feelings of muslims in regard of their responsibility towards each other, I speak as an individual Turkish muslim, I don't reflect official policy as I don't know their internal thinking, but as a muslim, we used to feel the pain of what was going on in Somali, the meaningless fight and the deterioration of a muslim nation, finally Erdogan's government made an attempt to extend a hand to cooperate with our muslim brothers /sisters to fix the ordeal.. here I need to explain that we also concerned for oppressed non muslim nations as humanity brotherhood, as we often here '' the struggle between right and rong'' not necessarily inter-religious competition.. we hope Somali and other nations, get back to full control of their nations affairs, and keep cooperating as equal partners

Hilken Boran, even if you work as a reporter for the BBC, what you cannot learn is that the name of our country is Türkiye, not Turkey. BBC does not give up its classic cheesy British attitude. But when you speak English, you are frankly funny. Let me write again, not TURKEY, just TÜRKİYE...

As appreciated by Westerners who visit Turkey, we are a hospitable and very helpful nation. And we help our brothers in Africa for the sake of Allah and because Islam commands so. The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said, "He who sleeps full while his neighbor is hungry is not one of us." We also say: Those who exploit and commit genocide while Africa is hungry are not human beings!

Turkey is a third world country that wants to partner with Africa in many fields such as socio-economic and military and educational fields, in which African countries are Indeed grateful as long as they not patronised but with common causes, where they can identify with one another.
