I usually can’t stand custom content beyond a few class changes, but turtle wow is so different. Every change that can be considered major feels sooo in line with that vanilla+ feel. All the custom content feels authentic, like an alternate universe vanilla. Decent community and great population.

Only problem is that they permanent IP ban you (even if you have max level characters) over a SINGLE offence. I played on Turtle-WoW for over 8 months and one day I let my guard down and typed a semi-political reply to a message on the chat (Joe Biden isn't really doing much better than Trump and the two party system is flawed.) after a guy was posting political messages for 15+ minutes straight at that point and was banned within 30 seconds at most with no explanation. I emailed Turtle WoW and they told me to go to there site and write an appeal, there was no appeal option and when I emailed them again my email was blocked apparently as I was given no other replies whatsoever. Have been on Stormforge - Netherwing server since, not a single issue and you don't have to worry about policing every single message you type as long as you aren't harassing others. WoW- Mania is pretty decent too but has a low population. I like what Turtle-WoW is doing with their server content-wise and respect it but it's as close as it comes to North Korea in regards to a private server. I guess if you are a person that never chats outside of guild whatsoever or just post LF/Trade messages you'll be fine but that kinda' kills the social aspect of an MMO in my eyes. I mean, that's just my experience though. For the 100+ hours I spent on Turtle prior to being perma-banned the experience was good though and the custom content was fun, just too extreme on policing.

Im a turtle wow veteran and this boom we've seen is very welcomed. Its the best thing since nostalrius. I highly recommend it.

Playing for two weeks on Turttle and it's just insane what they did, how they kept vanila style of progresion, added imersion and lore with new quests and area while also improving quality of your class without becoming like a WoW expansion where at the end we all end up having the same things. And the reason im comenting on majority of this vids, is so that algoritam can move you more into feed. Turttle WoW is amazing, ty for covering it.

Faction balance is kind of irrelevant as factions can group together. But as a whole there are more alliance.

AS A 2004 vanilla starter i've literally just got into turtle and it's really good ..very busy ..fun..great new quests whilst keeping the nostalgia obviously..no lagging..not too many twats....so far 10 out of 10

Note: Darkmoon faire is up all the time. It just moves around. There is a command to tell you where it is in game. The mount scales with your level as well.

Hardcore is a plague on this server, its the only downside to TW. The overpopulation isn't really a problem once you are doing lvl 25+ quest...unless you are in Duskwood lol

I really like turtle wow and as odd as this is to say the game is really hard to play right now. There is only 1 server and every quest zones is WAY over saturated making it almost impossible to complete quests. I am glad it is having success and it is a an amazing wow experience but the over population is an issue. They have increased mob spawning but what that means is most places you have double mobs spawning at the same time making hard core (which turtle wow does the best) a death trap if you want to do traditional quests. I hope they find a way to combat this. I know there is a huge outcry from folks who want a new server but it is a community project and the monetary issues of a new server is probably out of reach. Turtle wow is what WOW would be if you had devs that were passionate about the game rather than hating the people who played their game and their own personal egos being the most important factor of game development.

Originally Bliz was planning on adding Crusader Strike in vanilla but it got pulled out for some reason I dont know/cant remember. That Crusader Strike had the same 5x stacking effect(tho not sure if damage numbers are the same) that Turtle WoW''s Crusader Strike seems to have. After watching this vid I think I just might give Turtle WoW a shot and see if I like it or not.

This isn't Classic/Vanilla +. It is a whole new xpac/game. Classic/Vanilla + would just be Classic/Vanilla with new content. You would still have the same ol' "King of Auto-swing" Paladins as well as basically only 3 useable DPS classes for raiding. You have to take the bad things you don't like with the good, or else it's not the same game. I'm not saying its a bad thing, just saying it's not Vanilla/Classic +.

Just don't use the tents. It's what I do. Spending the time coming back to GS to sit in a tent defeats the purpose of getting the rested xp in the first place.

I mean the server is ok and everything.. but that old client is really annoying. Addons are awkward to download. The tent mechanic to gain rested exp is kinda cringe, why not give 2x multiplier instead of this weird mechanic.

Addons are pretty easy to download though, there's a huge Github file with all the addons for Turtle WoW, you pick & choose, you then download that Addon, Extract the file into your Addons Folder, and then rename the "Master_Addon" folder file to remove the "Master_" part so the folder name matches the executable file. It's more awkward than downloading from Curse or anything ofc, but it takes about 10 seconds I personally enjoy the tent mechanic. It gives people a social gathering point to meet up & get rested xp. During this rested xp accumulation time, a lot of people chat around & have a good time, while some others obviously go AFK. I see a lot of WoW Trivia happening & people just chatting together, which builds upon what a lot of people play Classic WoW for: The Social experience & the level adventure. Meeting up & getting more rested xp improves the social aspect by a lot, and because tents are in Goldshire & Crossroads it also shows people physically how many players are on the server. Seeing people physically in the open world is a massive improvement over any of the other versions of WoW, including Retail & Dragonflight. 2x multiplier would be met with harsh resistance as a lot of people enjoy the leveling adventure in Classic WoW. It's more about the journey & less about getting to the finish-line. Asking for a 2x multiplier instead of tents makes it sound like you just want to rush to the endgame, care only about the endgame, and want as little social interaction on the way there as possible. If you don't want to use the tent mechanic, don't use it, nobody is forcing you to :)

Getting paid a whoppping 0$ 🤝 As a content creator on KZbin you are legally and contractually obliged to show product placements & endorsements by ticking a box, in which case the video will show "This video includes product placement" as a text.
