I'm convinced that Special 2 has something to do with the Timeless Child story. In Doctor Who Magazine 585, an interview with RTD reveals the word Flux is included in the Wild Blue Yonder script, which is quite the reference on top of the fact that everything to do with special 2 is top secret. It's going to do something huge, but whether that's a good thing has yet to be seen

Could be true. I'm a part of the majority who had a hard time with the timeless child story line. For me though, it full on ruined over 50 years of Doctor who lore. So me and my friends don't consider it cannon, no more so then any fan project.

@@sandiago7564 I agree entirely. The timeless child pissed off so many fans that they swore off the show. Only way to get people back is to try and retcon that and get people back with the good will of David Tenant. If they don't undo the Timeless child people will just watch Davids specials and just leave again afterwards

@@sandiago7564 I didn't like timeless child either, but can we stop acting like Doctor who has canon? They've retconned so much so many times, there is no canon. What's true is what's happen in the current episode and nothing else.

I looked up the phrase, “Wild Blue Yonder”, and found that it was a line from the US Air Force theme song (“Off we go into the wild blue yonder”). I read through the lyrics of the song and came across these two passages from the second and third verses, respectively: Brilliant minds fashioned a crate of thunder, Sent it high into the blue; Valiant hands blasted the world asunder; How they lived God only knew! (and…) To a friend we send a message of the brave who serve on high. We drink to those who gave their all of old I then remembered the fact that the 23 second trailer for “Wild Blue Yonder” included an image of the Thirteenth Doctor’s TARDIS having landed on a ruined Gallifrey after the Master destroyed it. The Time Lords created the TARDIS (“Brilliant minds fashioned a crate of thunder”), but then they were destroyed (“Valiant hands blasted the world asunder”) by The Master (not a valiant person, to be sure, but the metaphor still holds, I think) because the Time Lords had (allegedly) kept the secret of The Timeless Child (“How they lived God only knew!”). Now, the kicker: “To a friend we send a message of the brave who serve on high / We drink to those who gave their all of old.” Could that be the Time Lords once again asking The Doctor to save them? Could that large, claustrophobic set be a vast computer bank where the Time Lords have “saved” a copy of themselves? Could the two phases “To A friend” and “We drink to THOSE” refer to The Doctor in both the singular and the plural, indicating that there will be other Doctors in the episode?

I'm guessing it will be two chamber piece storylines of Fourteen and Donna on the ship and Fifteen trying to work out "what the hell is going on here" (probably featuring Matt Smith and maybe Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker as the unseen Guardians of the Edge, perhaps with the First Doctor there too going off recent rumours).

I've heard not just one or two but quite a lot of people on KZbin and Twitter saying the exact same thing, that the person saying "the one who waits" in the trailers sounds like John Simm's voice and this subsequently means he could be back as the Saxon Master for Wild Blue Yonder so perhaps he is the top-secret villain for special 2 we don't know about yet. My advice would be to compare it to a clip of Simm playing the Saxon Master and come to your own conclusions about whether you agree or not, but can anybody imagine how insane that would be, seeing Simm as the Master face-to-face with David Tennant as the Doctor again? Now that would be one hell of a nostalgia boost and blast from the past right there, so perhaps there is actually a lot more reason as to why a part of Fourteen's sonic screwdriver looks similar to the laser one used by Simm's Master as well, could be it a subtle hint that this is the case like how other parts of the new sonic are Eleven and Twelve-esque! I definitely believe that WBY does have the most potential for surprises and huge twists seeing as how it is the most mysterious out of the three 60th specials by a long shot, there must be a reason for each episodes' different levels of secrecy as well.

Wild Blue Yonder is Russell off the leash and unlike any Doctor Who episode ever? My money's on Davies' sitting in an armchair lambasting Chibnall and the timeless children for 50+ minutes.

Oh I wish, but unfortunately it's been confirmed that The Timeless Child won't be undone yet. RTD is personal friends with Chibnaill in real life, so he's no matter how back Timeless Child is RTD won't be rude to his friend. It's inevitable that it will be eventually retconned, probably after RTD finishes again, since a retcon THAT big and THAT damaging can't possibly last in the long-run, but just be patient. Remember, the Doctor being half-human wasn't retconned until 11 years after it was established .

lol my actual first guest is that it was a multi doctor story. cus i heard that the tardis doesnt like crossing its own time stream, therefore it got scared and fucked off. (basically my theory is that it happened for few selected doctors and their tardises do disappear as well. leading them stuck on a crashing ship)

The 50th literally had three different versions of the same TARDIS sitting next to each other at the end, practically kissing, and there was no problem. It would be a pretty massive plot hole if that's the reason they end up going with.

i hope they give donna what she wanted, to travel with the doctor forever and they show a time gap between the episodes and when he finally regenerates to also give big finish room to play with (10 meeting 14 would be interesting if done right lol) i havent actively watched doctor who since mid matt smiths run, i will watch these specials and then check out.
