Its completely normal to eat with your hands. And he said "bisemillah" which means he is muslim and its sunnah to eat with your hands as the prophet PBUH used to eat with his hands. And it helps you understand the temperature of the food you are eating which prevents mouth burns. Also controls the quantity of the amount of food you are eating.
