"Dragon Ball" and "Dragon Ball Z" are 2 separate series within the same anime franchise. He's likely stating that Dragon Ball, showing the progression of Goku's child and teenage life (before finding out he was a Saiyan), and both Frieza and Nappa were non-existent in that show, is overrated because of how childish it can be (I haven't watched the video yet, this is my assumption), which I agree with but certain parts of it can also be mature (just like SpongeBob and many other cartoons that are "made for children") which I like. Judging from what he wears, he's expressing that Dragon Ball Z is where his favourite (or "favorite" - the American spelling) characters originate from, and not Dragon Ball

I think overrated means people speak highly of it but you find it meh which usually equates to indifference or dislike. For example, the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once. It won so many Oscars but lots of people including a bunch of Japanese people find it meh. My brother even said to me after watching it on Netflix recently that it was 🗑.

Underrated means you think it's so good but it doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves. For me for example I think Takahashi Rumiko's Urusei Yatsura is her best work but it's not as well-known as Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2. Probably because it doesn't involve fighting like shounen manga. But to me the characters and gags are so creative and memorable.

It just went into the categories of something like a "berserk" or an Oyasumi Punpun. They are amazingly dark series buy What is so controversial about that?? . It just became a series where you need to be prepared to get emotionally wrecked. That is not a controversy. Site me a "big controversy" that blew up due to Made in Abyss. Controversy is like something like "s1 Shield hero" where its released timing was really bad during the Me too era. Where they Shield hero got flack since it gives a story about a dude who is wrongfully accussed of SA". That premise made the series a point of debate. (Here is what dictionary meaning of Controversy: disagreement, typically when prolonged, public, and heated.) Now what is the controversy about MIA, like you even cited s1. Where that season has like relatively no controversy at all. There was nothing that cause "diagreements or heated conflicting opinion about MIA" In short it was not a"controversial show". It's just a really dark story where most poeple agree upon.

Not an underrated anime or anything, but Kaze Ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (or Run with the Wind if you prefer) is such a hidden gem! I know it's short and based on a novel, but the level of humanity in the characters, the realistic approach to their struggles and how the story keep transitioning from a sports anime to a slice of life (and vice-versa), all of that with the music score by Yuki Hayashi just made this anime one of my favorites. No wonder why I am running a marathon next month.

Blue Lock being named as underrated is so real (ok it isn't THAT nugu, but only in comparison to other sports anime like Haikyuu, Kurokou and Slam Dunk). I like how that one guy mentioned it focuses on personal growth much more when other sports anime focuses a lot on friendships and teamwork. In particular, the perspective of Greed and selfishness was very nuanced.

I think you should interview an older audience that watched the older anime of the 80’s and 90’s. Love to see that interview. The ones you are doing now are very repetitive. I really think you need newer content than just overrated/underrated Anime or anime that they like or dislike. Maybe talk about cars, Toys, Video games, game console. Both new and vintage also. Interviewing not just the younger audience, but also in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s that grew up with older anime, cars, toys, and video games. Would love to see their input of the 80’s and 90’s.

An underrated anime that I wish was licensed in the US is Major. For some reason the sequel series is (Major 2nd), but the original series and OVA aren't. There's lots of baseball anime out there, but Major is by far the best. I love how it focuses on a single character's journey from Little League all the way up to achieving his dream of becoming a player in the Major Leagues. I also like that the main character isn't always successful and has realistic setbacks such as injuries, and eligibility when he gets to the high school level of baseball.

I kinda understand this... so you had over 20 years now to watch one piece... and it get better and better every ark. forshadowing from 10 years ago finaly gets revealed and all that easy and enjoyable to follow. Otherside AOT very dark alot of complicated plot lines... and I felt nothing when the last seaon came out.... When the last one piece ark is done oh boy....I will watch that over and over again.
