Sade, I'm a 3rd Year New York Law School student. Before I came to New York to pursue my legal career, I grew up in a project. My parents both worked 3 jobs each to make ends meet and give us as much as they could while growing up. My friends as a kid, and as a teenager are now either dead, in prison for violent / drug crimes, or living their lives without any significant purpose. As an adult, I am one of the few who have gotten myself out of there without falling into one of those three ruts which I mention above. I too have been told "You can't do it - you don't know what you're getting yourself into." Or, "That's not something that 'people like you' should try - it doesn't usually work out," so I can really relate to your story. Your story is incredible. I admire your passion and your willingness to keep going. I hope that nothing stops you and that you stop at nothing. You WILL change the world with your story -- you already have. It's a Saturday afternoon and I am buried under a pile of books and I have been bombarded with articles about the dire state the legal job market is in - and how "people like me" cant expect to get the type of job I am looking for. I felt knocked down and thought "Why the hell even bother anymore? I might as well just stop." But your story made me pick my pen back up and KEEP FIGHTING. Keep shining, you're a star. -Mohammed Tavakoli

Sade girl ...you are a star, you motivate me everyday. With where l came from, where l grew up, and the temptations and mistakes that l have made and corrected, you have made me realise that someone's opinion of me , does not have to become my reality...girl you are for real.
