zero shadow :- earth tilted 23 . 5 degree it causes sessional changing - shadows will be show b/w tropic of cancer and tropics of caprice twice in year - shadow never appear on perpendicular sun rays - latitude should be equal any place for shadow

To say it in a nutshell. It depends upon the Declination (Celestial latitude) of the sun. The max Declination of the sun is 23.5 deg N and S. When the sun's Declination of the sun is equal to the latitude of a place the sun will be right above the head of the people on that lat and the shadow will be exactly below the people. Summer solstice occurs when sun's declination is 23.5N and winter solstice when sun's declination is 23.5S. To be precise the earth's tilt is 23 deg 27.6 mins. And equinox occurs when sun's declination is 0 deg. It happens twice in a year. Summer solstice 21-June Winter solstice 23-Dec Autumnal equinox 23- Sept Vernal equinox 21 Mar The dates may differ by 2-3 days. The above information is from Celestial Navigation subject. NAVY
